VALUES EDUCATION MONTH 2023

1. Rationale.
Filipino Values Month, held annually in November every year, looks to advance recognition of
values that are remarkably and emphatically Filipino. These include love of God and country, solid
family ties, care and regard for older folks, perseverance, and tolerance. Activities to celebrate the
occasion include banner making, trademark challenges, public addresses, cooking and dance
challenges, and exposition writing in schools. Filipino Values refers to the promotion of principles
that a greater part of the Filipinos have generally held significant in their lives. These values
incorporate their extraordinary gathering of belief systems, moral practices, manners, and
social/individual qualities.
The Values Month started in 1992, former President Fidel Ramos pronounced a Moral Recovery
Program because of the need to fortify the ethical assets of the Filipinos. We are to practice values
that are supportive of God, favorable to individuals, favorable to the nation, and supportive of
nature. This prompted Proclamation No. 479, endorsed on October 7, 1994, that praises the long
stretch of November as the Filipino Values Month.
In line with this, the SAMAHAN NG TAGAPANGALAGA NG EDUKASYON AT
MORALIDAD (VALUES EDUCATION STUDENTS) would like to host the first Values
Education Month to promote and strengthen the Filipino Values among the students of Letran-
Manaoag.
2. Objectives.
As general objectives this Values Education Month 2023 aims to:
2.1 promoting positive Filipino Values among the students of Letran-Manaoag and to discover their
different talents during the celebration of Values Month;
2.2 facilitate a role play to enhance and revive the Filipino Values like Bayanihan Spirit; and
2.3 understand some of the values that they hold there are peace, nationalism, faith in God, hard work,
respect, sincerity, fairness, liberty, love, and impartiality.

3. Project Activity/ Implementation

3.1 Application and Approval

An activity proposal was prepared for approval by the College Dean and Vice President for REMI
as one of the students’ activities.
