The line graph compares the income of four coffee shops in New York over
the period of the previous year. All figures are shown in US dollars.

It can be seen from the chart that the overall trend was upward, as the
incomes for three of the four cafes increased during the period. In
particular, there were dramatic rises for the ‘Wi-Fi Cafe’ (moving it 3rd to
1st place) and ‘Cafe Cool’, while ‘Internet Express’ demonstrated
comparatively steady growth. In contrast, the income for ‘The Tea Room’
plummeted, going from the highest to the lowest income during the year.

The Tea Room began the period with the highest income figure of $160,000
USD in January. It experienced a clear steady decline despite some
fluctuations, reaching $140,000 in October before dropping sharply to finish
the period with the lowest figure of $50,000 in December. In contrast, the
Wi-Fi Cafe started in 3nd place with sales of only $50,000, but rose steadily
hitting $100,000 in July. Its income then dipped during August and
September before figures soared, finishing up in December with the highest
income overall of $190,000.

Moving on to Internet Express, there was a steady fall in the cafe’s income
in the first four months of the year, starting in January with $95,000 and
flattening out at around $80,000. It then saw a recovery from August, to
end the period at $135,000. Similarly, the Cafe Cool fluctuated between
$20,000 and $40,000 in the first six months before increasing more steadily
to $60,000 in November, after which it witnessed a sudden upturn to finish
at $120,000 dollars in December.
