MICRO-PROJECT REPORT
Collect information of specification , uses, cost of various tools and
equipment needed for maintenance of different electrical machine
1.0 Rational :-
Preventive maintenance is the systematic care and protection of tools,
equipment, machines, and vehicles in order to keep them in a safe, usable
condition, that limits downtime and extends productivity. We must always
be aware that maintenance tasks themselves are potentially hazardous and
can result in injury.
By having your equipment regularly maintained it will ensure that
things keep running smoothly. When routine maintenance needs go
unnoticed or unattended, larger issues with equipment can result. If
equipment starts to wear over time, without being maintained the quality of
the product being produced may be affected.

MULTIMETER :-
Specification :-
Voltage measurement
DC ranges 50 mV DC, 500 mV DC, 5 V
DC, 50 V DC
AC ranges 50 mV RMS, 500 mV RMS, 5
V RMS, 30 V RMS
Input frequency range (AC voltage) 40 Hz to 1 kHz
DC voltage measurement accuracy 0.2% of range
(50 mV DC)
Uses :-
for measuring voltage, current, and resistance.
Cost:-
200
INSULATION RERESISTANCE TESTER :-
Specification:-
AC/DC Voltage Measurement
Accuracy. Range
Measurement range. 0.01 MΩ to 10 GΩ
Test voltage. 50 V, 100 V, 250V,500V ,1000V
Test voltage accuracy + 20%, - 0%
Uses :-
for checking insulation integrity
Cost :-
5000 Rs
SCREWDRIVERS :-
Specification:-
Screwdrivers are specified according to the shank length and blade width,
as shown in the below image.
Specification:-
Fencing. Fencing pliers have a flat, blunt, hammer-like side and
a slopping claw side with flat, gripping jaws that open in-
between the two sides.
Flat-Nose Flat-nose, or duckbill, pliers have long, narrow, flat
jaws.
Use:-
Pliers are a handy tool used for gripping, bending, and cutting
objects. They come in different sizes and types, like slip-joint
pliers, needle-nose pliers, and lineman's pliers.
Cost:-
200 Rs
WIRE STRIPPER AND CRIMPERS:-
Specification:-
Use:-
wire stripping tools are best for removing the insulation from wire, while
pliers are best for (you guessed it) cutting wire. Pliers help you reach, bend,
grab, cut, hold and loop wire, and wire stripper crimpers are the best tool to
join two pieces of ductile material together
Cost:-
100 RS.
EELECTRICIAN KNIFE:-
Specification:-
It has a 45 mm cutting edge, hardened to 57-60 HRC for increased strength.
Its blade is made of 2.55 mm thick polished stainless steel. The handle is
made of nylon, a light and very resistant material.
Use:-
The primary use for an electrician knife is cutting wires and cables and
stripping off their plastic insulation. It is also frequently used to cut
boxes that carry electrical equipment.
Cost:-
200 Rs.
HAMMERS:-
Specification:-
Material High-carbon steel head, treated to achieve a
martensitic structure, with dressed striking faces.
Quality of make No dents, no cracks, smooth surface and edges.
No excess metal in the eye.
Weight of the 750g +/- 1%
head
Rockwell 50 minimum to 58 maximum on striking faces.
hardness C
(HRC)
Use:
hammers are used for general carpentry, framing, nail pulling, cabinet
making, assembling furniture, upholstering, finishing, riveting, bending
or shaping metal, striking masonry drills and steel chisels, and so on.
Hammers are designed according to the intended purpose.
Use:-
Wrenches are made in various shapes and sizes and are used for gripping,
fastening, turning, tightening and loosening things like pipes, pipe fittings,
nuts and bolts. There are basically two major kinds of wrenches: Pipe
wrenches used in plumbing for gripping round (cylindrical) things.
Cost:-
500 Rs.
LUBRICANTS:-
Specification:-
Lubricant specifications are internal documents that contain the technical
standards, performance requirements and industry approvals for every
lubricant used in the facility or fleet. They may include information on
product safety, proper disposal or alternative products available on the
market.
Use:-
A lubricant (sometimes shortened to lube) is a substance that helps to reduce
friction between surfaces in mutual contact, which ultimately reduces the
heat generated when the surfaces move. It may also have the function of
transmitting forces, transporting foreign particles, or heating or cooling the
surfaces.
Specification :-
Use:-
Personal protective equipment, commonly referred to as "PPE", is equipment
worn to minimize exposure to hazards that cause serious workplace injuries
and illnesses. These injuries and illnesses may result from contact with
chemical, radiological, physical, electrical, mechanical, or other workplace
hazards.
Cost :- 3000 Rs.
