Application and Characteristics Switzerland

Genapol® X 080 is a nonionic, NPE-free emulsifier and wetting agent. BUSINESS UNIT INDUSTRIAL &
CONSUMER SPECIALTIES

Genapol® X 080 is used e.g. in crop protection applications, detergents, www.ics.clariant.com

www.clariant.com
industrial & institutional cleaners or in wax and silicon emulsions.

Genapol® X 080 shows excellent wetting and emulsification characteristics

with low-foaming for many solvents typically used in agrochemical
formulations.

Genapol® X 080 could be used to achieve the following crop protection

formulation types: Emulsifiable Concentrate [EC], Emulsion in Water [EW],
Suspoemulsion [SE], Dispersible Concentrate [DC] and Oil Dispersion [OD].
In can also be incorporated into Water Dispersible Granules [WG].

The product is often used as wetting agent or co-emulsifier in combination

with anionic emulsifier components such as Phenylsulfonat CA and
Phenylsulfonat CAL and other non-ionic emulsifiers as EO-PO block
copolymers (Emulsogen® 3510, EP 4901, Synergen® 848) and Emulsogen® TS
types.
Compatibility
The product is miscible with the standard solvents used for Agrochemical
formulations, including vegetable oils and its esters, aromatic solvents,
mineral oil, N-alkyl-pyrrolidones, N,N-dimethyl-alkanamides among others.
Genapol® X 080 is compatible with anionic, cationic and other nonionic
surfactants and resistant against strong alkaline and acid solutions.

Typical Use Level

As for standard emulsifiers and wetting agents, typical use rates are around
1 to 15% with respect to the oil phase. Mixing with other emulsifiers might
allow to reduce the use level and increase emulsion stability.

Storage and Handling

Genapol® X 080 can be stored in the original containers tightly closed in a
cool, well-ventilated place.
In case of using only part of the container, homogenise the content before
product withdrawal. The properties of Genapol® X 080 are reversibly altered
by exposure to cold. If the product thickens or freezes through exposure to
cold, thaw slowly at room temperature and afterwards stir briefly.

Shelf Life
The shelf life is at least two years when stored in tightly closed containers at
20 - 25°C in a clean and aerated place. After this period the product should be
analysed for extension of the shelf life.
