Routine for Reading Enhancement

7:30-8:00 session. Procedure:
(30 minutes) - Divide the class into 4 groups
-All the unfamiliar word nor words that
may be hard to read will be posted on the
mini- board.
-All the member will practice to read the
words assigned to them.( individual/
groupings )
-After 15 mins of practice they will go in
front and read all the words.
- if they read all the words correctly, the
teacher will give the material for During-
Reading Activity. If not they group will
continue to practice and repeat the process

In this lesson, you will learn how to visualize percent and its
relationship to fractions, ratios and decimals using models.
So, let’s get started.
The figure below represents Luis and Ernie’s earnings and
savings. The 100 boxes show the total earnings while the 73
shaded boxes represent the amount given to their mother.
A percent is a number or ratio that represents a fraction of
100. It is often denoted by the symbol "%". For example, 35%
is equivalent to the decimal 0.35, or the fraction 35/100.
Let us solve the given problem.
Example #1: In the word PEACE, what is the ratio of letter
E in all the letters in word PEACE?
The ratio of letter E to all the letters can be written as 2:5 or 2/5.
This is illustrated in the given figure. There are 2 shaded out of 5.
