Heart Rate before Exercise

Mean

 A mean is a numerical figure that is between the extreme values of a set of numbers

and represents the middle of the collection of data (Hayslett, 2014). Males have an

average heart rate of around 80.39 beats per minute (bpm), while girls have an

average heart rate of about 81.77 bpm.

 This implies that, on average, the sample's female participants had somewhat greater

resting heart rates than its male counterparts.

Standard Deviation

 For men, the standard deviation is around 7.05 bpm, while for women, it is roughly

6.27 bpm.

 The dispersion or spread of data points around the mean is measured by the standard

deviation. Greater data variability is indicated by a larger standard deviation.

 Male heart rates in this group fluctuate more widely around the mean than female

heart rates, as shown by the greater standard deviation for men.

Interpretation

 Male heart rates range more around their mean than female heart rates, despite the

fact that girls have a somewhat greater mean heart rate than men. This is seen by the

larger standard deviation for males.

 This indicates that although the average heart rate of females is somewhat higher,

there is more variation in the heart rates of men, with individuals having heart rates

that are noticeably higher or lower than the average.

 Conversely, the heart rates of females are less variable within the group because they

are more tightly grouped around their mean.

Conclusion

In conclusion, male heart rates show more variability, with some guys having much

higher or lower heart rates than the norm, whereas females had somewhat higher average

heart rates.

Heart Rate after Exercise

Mean

 After exercise, the mean heart rate for men is around 90.28 beats per minute (bpm),

while the mean heart rate for women is roughly 91.23 bpm.

 After exercise, women's average heart rates are somewhat higher than men's, similar

to their resting heart rates.

Standard Deviation

 After exercise, the standard deviation for men is around 7.82 bpm while for women it

is roughly 5.91 bpm. The standard deviation, quantifies the degree of dispersion of the

data with respect to the mean. The standard deviation shows how closely grouped the

data are around the mean (Livingston, 2004).

Descriptive Statistics 4

 Male heart rates after exercise fluctuate more widely about their mean than female

heart rates, according to the standard deviation, which is larger in men than in women,

again reflecting differences in resting heart rates.

Interpretation

 The mean data show that, even after exercise, women's average heart rates are

somewhat higher than men's.

 Male heart rates after exercise exhibit more variability, as shown by a larger standard

deviation. This indicates that, in comparison to females, male heart rates are more

widely distributed from their mean.

 Female heart rates after exercise, on the other hand, show less variability, with heart

rates clustering closer to the mean, according to a smaller standard deviation.

 Overall, male heart rates show more variability, with some guys having much higher

or lower heart rates relative to the mean, whereas female heart rates are more closely

grouped around their mean. Female heart rates are somewhat higher on average after

exercise.

Conclusion

In conclusion, men's heart rates are more variable after exercise, with some people

having more dramatic variations in heart rate. Women, on the other hand, often have slightly

higher average heart rates after exercise.
