Character Creation Rules

Rules to Follow

Character Motivations. Your PC must

Have a reason to be an adventurer and go on adventures. I don't have the

patience to deal with "oh, I just want to be a blacksmith" PCs. Please make
characters that actually want to play the game.

Have a reason to adventure with the group. I also don't have the patience
to deal with dark loners who want to leave the group and pursue their own
interests. I run a group game. Please make characters that will adventure with the
group.

Use 27-point buy for abilities. (See PHB 13, Variant: Customizing Ability
Scores)

You may choose from all races, classes, backgrounds, and other PC options in
the PHB.

If you want to use a race, class, archtype, feat, or other feature from one
of WoTC's official books, such as Xanathar's or Tashas, check with me first. And be
ready for some adjustments. I'm finding that many of the new player options are
quite unbalanced.

As always, the DM reserves the right to adjust options that are unbalanced
or broken, such as Elven Accuracy or Healing Spirit.

Starting gold based on level you start at. All items in PHB can be purchased at
price listed, as can be spell components for spells with a gp cost listed.

Levels 1-4 get no additional starting wealth.

Levels 5-10 receive an additional 2000 gp and 1 uncommon magic item.

Levels 11-16 receive an additional 5000 gp, 1 uncommon magic item, and 1
rare magic item.

Levels 17-20 receive an additional 10,000 gp, 1 uncommon magic item, 1 rare
magic item, and 1 legendary magic item.

**All magic items must be approved by the DM. And the DM reserves the right to
consider certain magic items to be a higher rarity than listed (such as boots of
flying).

The following healing potions can be purchased with starting gold:

healing potion (2d4+2 healing) - 50 gp

greater healing potion (4d4+4 healing) - 200 gp

superior healing potion (8d4+8 healing) - 2000 gp
