M. F. H. BEG EDUCATION FUND (SCHOLARSHIP) 2017 - 18
Last date for applying for the scholarship is January 31, 2018
The Vice Chancellor has given his kind consent to the request of Mr. M. Q. H. Beg, Chairman, Jamia Co-operative Bank Ltd. for
creation of M. F. H. Beg Education Fund and M. F. H. Beg Award under sponsored scholarships category of the Jamia Millia Islamia
from the current academic year 2017 - 18.

Under the M.F.H. Beg Award, Rs. 25, 000 (Rs. Twenty five thousand only) will be given to each of the toppers of B.A. (Hons.) Urdu
and B. Com (Hons.) every year

The M.F.H. Beg Education Fund will be used to pay the fees of needy students of Jamia Millia Islamia. The Scheme will start from the
current academic year 2017 - 18.
The M.F.H. Beg Education Fund (scholarship) is tenable at Jamia Millia Islamia. The Scholarship for which
application is to be made for particular year will be tenable from the concerned academic year. Scholarship will
be given for one academic year, which may be extended to the subsequent year subject to securing an average
of 60% marks in examination and bearing good personal conduct.

Quantum of Scholarship:
The amount of the scholarship will be Rs.10, 000/- (Rs. Ten thousand only) or amount of gross annual fee, whichever is lower
per candidate per academic year. Scholarship will be given to at least 30 students of Jamia Millia Islamia per academic year.

Conditions of Eligibility:
1. The Scholarships are open to citizens of India;
2. Candidates must be student of Jamia Millia Islamia and bearing good conduct;
3. Candidates must be of such an age that they will have completed their 19th birthday and not have completed their 25th birthday
on the 1st October of the academic year;
4. Candidates must be from economically weak family whose income should not be more than Rs.2.0 Lac (Rs. Two Lacs only) per
annum;
5. Student should ensure at least 75% attendance;
6. Preference will be given to girl students of Jamia Millia Islamia;
7. The students, who have been awarded M. F. H. Beg fund by the University, are entitled to receive stipend or any financial
assistance from any other source. However, if the student is awarded any stipend or financial assistance from any other source,
he/she shall immediately communicate the same to Dean, Students’ Welfare (DSW);
8. Beneficiary of this scholarship will not be eligible for Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam Scholarship.

Candidates applying will submit self-attested copies of the following documents:


1. A School-leaving or X Marksheet certificate as evidence of age;
2. Identity card issued by the University;
3. Copy of Paid fee slip;
4. Family/Parent’s Income Certificate issued by the competent authority;
5. Death certificate of Mother/Father (in death cases);
6. A write up on justification for getting scholarship (not more than 300 words);
7. Recommendation of Dean of Faculty/ Head of Department/ Director of Centre;
8. Mark-sheet of last examination passed;
9. One passport size photograph.

Submission: Application forms may be


collected from and submitted in the office of the
Dean, Students’ Welfare, (Dr. M. A. Ansari Auditorium,
Gate No. 13) by January 31, 2018. Kindly submit all the necessary
