Maintenance
The (foam ) fresh air filter must be cleaned sometimes as often as twice a day, depending on
the operating environment. This is done by removing the filter and shaking it. Air pressure
can also be used to blow out dust. The filter will clean outside air when pressurising the cab.
The paper filter should be replaced when required.

The AC system must be turned on for at least 5 minutes weekly throughout the year to
lubricate internal components.
Inspect the sight glass on the Receiver Drier (RD) weekly, or if the AC system does not
perform to its fullest capacity, Bubbles indicate that the system is due for recharging.
RD is equipped with a moisture indicator, colour is blue (OK) if it change colourer against red
the system needs to be recharged and refrigeration oil replaced. Before charging a leak test
has to be don.

The condenser should be kept clean for clogged coil use water to clean the coil.
Check condenser fans.

The compressor is a pump with raises the pressure of the refrigerant for heat movement
through condenser and evaporator.
It is important that the compressor speed is adapted to the performance of other components
in the system, in this case it is between 2000-3000 rpm. Compressor is driven by an hydraulic
motor.
The compressor is pre-filled with polyester oil ( PAG )

When performing leak testing on a refrigerant hose, pay special attention to pin pricking and
hose ends. A double braided hose is used for refrigerant system. The hose is pin pricked down
to the braiding for evacuation of air when the hose is under pressure.
Do not confuse a refrigerant leak with the purging of air. Use an electronic refrigerant leak
detector to the determine refrigerant leaks.
Note: Do not connect hoses to moisture sensitive parts like the receiver drier and
compressor if the system cannot be vacuumed and charged within 1 hour.

The expansion valve controls the amount of refrigerant entering the vaporator coil. The
expansion valve is located near the inlet of the evaporator coil and provides the functions
of throttling, modulating and controlling the liquid refrigerant to the evaporator coil.

The evaporator cools and dehumidifies the air before it enters the cabin. Cooling a large area
requires that large volumes of air be passed through the evaporator coil for heat exchange.

Thermostat
The thermostat is simply a thermal device that controls an electrical switch. When warm
the switch is closed; when cold, it is open. Most thermostats have a positive off position as a
means to turn the clutch of regardless of temperature.
Safety Precautions

Trouble Shooting
NO COOLING
BAD COOLING
Check: 1. Blower
2. The air, it should not go around the evaporator in the unit
3. Evaporator and condenser should not be clogged
4. Filter in the air inlet should not be clogged
5. The thermostat should not disconnect too soon.
6. Low oil flow.
IRREGULAR COOLING
ABNORMAL NOISE
NOTE: System shall be serviced by qualified personal only. According to the Swedish
refrigerant announcement, it is from 1989/07/01 forbidden to deliberately
release refrigerant.
6
Once a week check the following
Sightglass. There shall be bubbles only when turning ON/OFF the compressor.
There shall be electrical contacts between thermostat and coil on hydraulic motor.
The condenser shall have free air passages and not be clogged.
All fittings.
Run the compressor a few minutes every week in order to lubricate rubber hose,
connections, gasket and axle seals.
If you should find lack of refrigerant, leakage or another fault, do not use the system until
reparation has been done or you will run the risk of compressor damages.
