EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

This project entitled Quantitree stems from the pressing need to address the issue about over exploitation
of natural resources such as forests, and bodies of water just to meet a growing demand nowadays. Over
exploitation of natural resources need to address because as exploitation of natural resources goes on, such as
overfishing, deforestation, and excessive extraction of water, company or businesses will only supply peoples
need in a limited time, but with uncertainties in the long run. According to the National Disaster Risk some
areas in Tanauan, Batangas such as Tinurik, Boot, Janopol and more are affected by the flood during wet
season. With the implementation of this project, this aims to raise public awareness about the importance of
nurturing nature through educational endeavor, encourage sustainable actions that promotes environmentally
friendly habits among the population, and also to get the community involved by collaborating with local
groups and leader to engage the community in nature conservation efforts. It is crucial to undertake this
initiative now as over exploitation of natural resources, if not stopped, can lead to insufficient supply of natural
resources that almost all the population needs (Aeark, 2023). The project will benefit local farmers and
agricultural workers, youth and students, local businesses, and possible partners and donors by simply just
having an unlimited source of resources, this is only if this project was successful. Through a thorough analysis
of the situation, it has become evident that this project is the most effective way to preserve our natural
resources, to preserve businesses that depend solely on this type of resource. We are confident in the feasibility
of this project, considering that we have funds to sustain and to operate our project, and also personalities with
knowledge and expertise with this specific project. Although challenges might come such as when community
doesn’t want to participate in this project it will still be possible with the help of our participants and
volunteers. Ultimately, the success of this project will be measured by how well the people were educated and
how well the natural resources were preserved. This project not only aligns with our organization's mission but
also demonstrates a commitment to really preserve our natural resources to preserve our natural resources
dependent businesses. In conclusion, by ensuring sustainability and adhering to ethical standards, we are
confident that this project will make a meaningful and lasting impact on preserving the beauty of our nature
and natural resources so that businesses that depending on it can still run their business and grow. ( A solution
to OverExploitation, 2020)

PROJECT BACKGROUND

Our world is facing global warming challenges, and each part of the world is endowed with diverse
natural resources (Ecosystems & Nature-based Solutions – CARE Climate Change, 2022). However, with
rapid urbanization, this has put pressure on these resources, leading to degradation, loss of biodiversity, and
climate change impacts. Recognizing the critical need for sustainable management, cultivation, and protection
of natural resources, this project aims to implement comprehensive strategies that promote conservation while
supporting the socio-economic needs of local communities.
The cultivation and protection of natural resources are vital for the long-term well-being of present and future
generations. By embracing sustainable practices and forging partnerships, we can ensure the resilience and
integrity of our ecosystems while promoting inclusive development and prosperity for all stakeholders in
Batangas, specifically. This project seeks to catalyze positive change and pave the way for a more sustainable
and equitable future. Theory of Change (TOC) framework, conceptualize and execute a project aimed at
safeguarding the delicate balance between human development and ecosystem preservation in Batangas. The
Theory of Change offers a structured approach to understanding how interventions lead to desired outcomes by
describing the causal pathways between inputs, activities, outputs, outcomes, and impacts (Theory of Change
Community, 2023). At the heart of this framework lies a commitment to strategic planning, stakeholder
engagement, and evidence-based decision-making. Furthermore, Global markets can drive demand for natural
resources, leading to unsustainable extraction, overfishing, and exploitation of land and water resources.
Addressing these market pressures while promoting sustainable alternatives is essential for long-term
conservation efforts. Addressing these gaps and challenges requires a multifaceted approach that integrates
scientific knowledge, community engagement, policy reforms, and international cooperation. The project aims
to bridge these gaps by raising awareness, building capacity, fostering collaboration, and implementing
targeted interventions to promote the sustainable cultivation and protection of natural resources in Batangas.
There is a growing recognition of the value of nature-based solutions (NBS) in addressing environmental
challenges and promoting sustainable development. Projects are increasingly incorporating NBS, such as
ecosystem restoration, green infrastructure, and nature-based tourism, to achieve multiple benefits for
biodiversity, climate resilience, and human well-being.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION

A. Goal: To initiate a comprehensive campaign aimed at fostering the cultivation and safeguarding of our
natural resources for sustainable preservation and utilization.

B. Objectives:

I. Raise Awareness:

The campaign is designed to raise public awareness about the importance of nurturing nature.
Through educational endeavors covering topics such as plants, animals, and the environmental impact
of human activities, its objective is to foster a sense of responsibility among individuals towards the
conservation of natural resources.

II. Encourage Sustainable Actions:

The campaign aims to promote environmentally friendly habits among the population. This involves
advocating for practices such as water conservation, waste reduction, and energy efficiency. By
endorsing these behaviors, the campaign endeavors to contribute to the preservation of natural resources
for future generations.

III. Get The Community Involved:

The campaign plans to collaborate with local groups and leaders to engage the community in nature
conservation efforts. Through the organization of events, workshops, and projects, it aims to unite
individuals in taking proactive steps towards environmental protection. By fostering collective action,
the campaign believes it can significantly impact the care and preservation of our environment.

C. Target Beneficiaries:
The “Quantitree” project proposal aims to promote environmental stewardship in Tanauan City by
implementing an approach that promotes sustainable practices, community engagement and economic
growth.

I. Local Farmers and Agricultural Workers:

The project introduces farmers and workers to gain advice for them to improve their land
management techniques and achieve protection over the natural resources.
II. Youth and Students:
This project engages young minds to bring knowledge and educate them about environment issues
and sustainability practices. Involving youth empowers them to take active roles in environmental
conservation through initiatives like tree planting campaigns and community clean-up activities.
III. Local Businesses:

The Possible Partners and Donors can contribute by providing financial support, donations, and
sponsorships. Also, to enhance project impacts and to sustainability of joint efforts and shared
knowledge.

D. Methodology:

I. Project Planning and Research: Have an focus group discussions and gather insights and ideas to input
on project planning and implementation. Define project objectives, goals and identify one of the
problems around Tanauan City and that are relative to ABM strand.
II. Gathering data: Researching the background about the identified problem. Identifying Target
Beneficiary, Source of funds, Activities and Timeline.
III. Distribution of Parts: Each member has specific parts to properly do the project proposal.
IV. Developing Awareness Materials. Creating informative posters, brochures and pamphlets to address
the project and by the use of powerful graphics and concise messages to reach a wider audience.
V. Explore crowdfunding platforms or sponsorships to financially support our project proposal.
VI. Provide local regulations and requirements in order to prepare and submit applications to have a
permit for our program and to inquire the approval on the local government.
VII. Giving small tokens of appreciation for those who are attending and being the best performing
participants to give back their efforts and time.
