Project Title: Empowering 4H Club Members through Native Chicken Production

Introduction:
The 4H Club in Polangui aims to promote the development of youth through agricultural
activities. As part of their learning experience, the club members are interested in venturing into native
chicken production. This project proposal aims to provide the necessary support for 10 4H Club members
to start their own native chicken production business.
Objective:
The objective of this project is to empower 10 4H Club members in Polangui by providing them
with the resources and training needed to start their own native chicken production business. Each club
member will be able to purchase 7 heads of native chicken from any poultry farm in Albay, with each
head costing 500 PHP.
Project Description:

 The project will provide financial assistance to each club member to purchase 70 heads of native
chicken (10 members x 7 heads) from a poultry farm in Albay.
 The project will also include training sessions on native chicken production for the club members,
to ensure they have the necessary knowledge and skills to successfully raise and market their
chickens.
 The club members will be responsible for the care and management of their chickens, with
regular monitoring and support from the project coordinators.
The project will run for 6 months, during which time the club members will be encouraged to engage in
activities such as selling eggs, organizing local events, and marketing their products. Activities:
1. Training Workshops
- Conduct seminars and workshops to educate the 4H club members about the best
practices in native chicken production, including housing, feeding, and disease management.
2. Demonstrations
- Organize hands-on demonstrations for the members to learn practical skills in native
chicken farming.
3. Starter Kit Distribution
- Provide starter kits such as native chicken breeds, feeds, and basic supplies to selected
4H club members to start their own native chicken farms.
4. Monitoring and Evaluation
 - Regularly monitor the progress of the native chicken farms and provide technical assistance and
support as needed
Expected Outcomes:

 Increased knowledge and skills in native chicken production among 4H Club members.
 Improved financial literacy and business management skills among club members.
 Increased income generation for club members through the sale of native chicken products.
 Strengthened sense of ownership and responsibility among club members towards their
agricultural projects.
Budget:
 10 club members x 7 heads of native chicken x 500 PHP per head = 35,000 PHP
 10 Sacks of starter feeds x 2,000 PHP = 20,000.00
Budgetary Requirements:
The budgetary requirement for 70 heads of native chicken at 500 pesos per head for 10
beneficiaries would be as follows:

Partnerships:

 The project will seek partnerships with local poultry farms in Albay for the purchase of native
chicken.
 The project will also collaborate with local government units and agricultural organizations for
technical support and training.
Conclusion:
This project proposal aims to empower 4H Club members in Polangui through native chicken
production, providing them with the resources and training needed to start their own business. By
supporting youth in agriculture, we hope to contribute to the development of a generation of skilled and
empowered farmers in the community.
