I. OBJECTIVE(S)
A. Content Standards The learner demonstrates understanding of how world literature and other
text types serve as instruments to resolve social conflicts, also
how to use the language of research, campaigns and advocacies.
B. Performance Standards The learner competently presents a research report on a relevant socio-
cultural issue.
C. Most Essential Learning Judge the relevance and worth of ideas, soundness of author’s reasoning,
Competency(ies) and the effectiveness of presentation (EN9RC-IVf.2.22)

A. PRELIMINARY ACTIVITIES  Call a student representative to lead the class in prayer.
 Greet the student lively.
 Check the student’s attendance
 Present the classroom standards
B. REVIEW The teacher will ask precursory questions on the author’s purpose writing:
1. What are the reasons do we write?
2. What specifically are you reading for when reading:
 A school textbook;
 A position paper; and
 A novel.
C. MOTIVATION A. THIS BOOK MAKES ME…
 The teacher will present four (4) book covers of popular literature.
 The student’s will share what they thought about the book, whether
they read the book or not.
 The teacher will ask what did they get from the book, or what
impressions do they have about it.

D. OBJECTIVE/S Judge the relevance and worth of ideas, soundness of author’s reasoning,
and the effectiveness of presentation (EN9RC-IVf.2.22)
At the end of the period, the students would be able to:
a. identify the author’s purpose; and
b.determine the relevance and worth of ideas
E. ACTIVITY A. TRAILER ANALYSIS
 The class will be divided into four (4) groups.
 The Teacher will present two (2) trailers for movies and TV shows.

F. ANALYSIS  After watching the trailers the groups will complete the analysis matrix.
DIRECTIONS: Read the questions posed within the matrix and write only
short statements in the provided manila paper.

Did the central themes of both movies convey the

 The groups will pick a representative to present their group’s output.
 The teacher will exempt the first two groups who have posted their
outputs first from the reporting.
 The groups not able to report are encouraged to pose questions to the
reporters for extra points.
