Prompt: Some people think that everyone has the right to have access

to university education and that the government should make it free

for all students no matter what financial background they have. To
what extent do you agree or disagree?

A school of thought holds that everyone has privileged to gain access to college and
students, irrespective of their socio-economic background, should be pursued
college without fee. While acknowledging the reasons behind this thinking, I partly
disagree with this notion.
On the one hand, there are some compelling reasons why people believe that
students should be provided with the free-college policy. Firstly, there is a surge in
the higher education tuition fee due to the development of university facilities and
infrastructures, and also cover the teacher salary. As a result, students, who has a
poor financial status, do not have ability to cover the tuition fees and they have to
hold a part-time job while they still study. With this policy, more students can be
entitled to the university and immerse in their study, do not have to hold any part-
time jobs to cover their living. Secondly, university is the best way for people to land
higher-paid jobs and promoting their living. Therefore, bachelor’s degree holders
through free-college practice, especially the underprivileged, can have a high-paid
jobs and eventually enhance their living.
Despite these argument, I hold the belief that the provision of free-of-charge
education is, in fact, have an adverse impact on society.Tuition fee is often used for
covering the salary of lectures and eventually promoting the facilities and also the
infrastructures. When applying this practice, university do not have enough money
to pay for this so the government have to allot the state funding in a adverse
economic situation. In addition, the job market has become competitive as it is, even
for the employers with college qualifications. If everyone is eligible to the university,
the competitiveness of job market is increased lead to the large amount of
joblessness in society.
In conclusion, although there are some justifications for the idea that the provision
of free-of-charge education should be applied in university. I would posit that this
practice can have an adverse impact on society.
