Comprehanons returned victorious in Distirict-to-District Meet field events

Comprehanon Athletes have made their farthest distance on jumping and throwing to bag 2
gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze medals in field event at District-to-District Meet held on November 25, 2023
at MOPAC Grandstand, Oroquieta City.

They represented the Calamba District at long jump, triple jump, high jump, discuss throw,
javelin throw and shot put in two different level categories: elementary and secondary levels.

First gold medal was earned by Comprehanon javelin thrower, Jan Mik Baldecasa in Secondary
Boys Category shocking MOPAC Grandstand audiences that he reached a distance of 44.08 m throwing
the javelin while the second gold medal was grabbed by Comprehanon shot put thrower, Arsenio
Quinlob also in Secondary Boys Category having a thrown distance of 9.50 m.

Two silver medals were bagged by incredible field athlete, Erica Blase joining three field events
by which two of it gave her silver medals for winning in discuss throw and shot put while a bronze medal
for javelin throw event.

"Despite of the short preparation time, comprehanon athlete made to be one of top 3 that is
very greatful to hear aside that they are first timers and having not that much experience on athletics,"
Coach Jose Masas said in an interview.

Based on my observations on their skills, I think they are ready for intense training that I will give
to them as preparation for the upcoming Division Meet on February 2024 even though most of them are
first timers, I can see that they are determined to win and I am happy to to tell that they deserve the
win," he added.

Calamba District Field Athletes are now up for their training as what their coach said and is now
also preparing their physical and mental skills for the upcoming next level event hoping for another
blessings of achievements for our school and also for our whole municipality.
Calambahanons proves their speed at running in District-to-District Meet track events

Running for pride and honor of Calambahanons, the member of Calamba District runners
bagged 4 gold, 1 silver and 4 bronze medals at District-to-District Meet held on November 25, 2023 at
MOPAC Grandstand, Oroquieta City.

First gold medal was won by a 16 years old Comprehanon runner, John Lee Ang in 100 m dash
track event while unfortunately his teammate Winchez Macasling didn't get to be in top 3 but still he's
thankful for having opportunity to be an athlete to represent our Municipality.

Second gold medal was won by a Sacred Heart College High School Department student, Edzel
Baritua in 1500 m run track event while the first bronze medal on the said event snatched by a
Comprehanon runner, Peter Jan Patcho.

Third gold medal were grabbed by 4x100 m relay runners Winchez Macasling and his Company
while the fourth gold medal worn by Elementary girl runner, Ronelyn Polipog for winning the 800 m run
track event in Elementary Level Category.

Silver medal was given to Calambahanon runner, Jenelyn Oniong for being top 2 in 200 m dash
track event at Secondary Level Category with finished time of 31.20 seconds which is very edged to the
gold medalist of the said event, April Shaine Luza of Aloran District with finshed time of 30.88 seconds.

The second and third bronze medals was got by Elementary boy runners Chin Earl Circolado at
200 m dash finished in 29.50 seconds and Joshua Lacataria at 800 m run finished in 2 minutes and 56
seconds that are both students of Calamba Central School.

The fourth bronze medal was earned by Comprehanon girl runner, Ann Marie Lacataria in 3000 m run
track event who finished her run at 13 minutes and 44 seconds.

"Even though we didn't have a proper selection of athletes and leading us for having first timer
athletes, I am still so proud that they overcome the ups and downs of our preperation and succesfully
bagged medals that will bring pride and honor for our municipality," Coach Jose Masas stated in an
interview.

I didn't expect the results because the time given to us for training was too short and another
factor of that, most of my athlete have no experience on the events that they joined but despite of that,
I am so thankful for their determination and obedience to all my advices, exercises and tips thus, they
deserve those achievements, there's nothing else I can say," he added.

Calamba District Track Athletes are now undergoing training for the upcoming Division Meet
that will be held on February 2024 still at MOPAC Grandstand, Oroquieta City.
