INTRODUCTION
The density of a liquid is a measure of how heavy it is for the amount measured. If you
weigh equal amount or volume of two different liquids, the liquid that weighs more is more
dense. If a liquid that is less dense than water is gently added to the surface of the water, it
will float on the water.

BODY
The liquid separate out into different layers because they have different densities. The
distinguish liquid has the highest density among the 3 so it sits on the bottom, and the oil which
has the lowest density among the 3 rises to the top. By dropping coins, grapes, plastic bottle
cap and a piece of sponge we determine which object will float or sink to the dishwashing
liquid, colored water and oil. As we can see the coin sinks to the bottom because it is denser
than the dishwashing liquid, the grape sinks on the oil and colored water but sits on the
dishwashing liquid because the dishwashing liquid is denser than the grapes, the plastic bottle
cap sinks on the oil but sits on the colored water because colored water because colored water
is much denser than the plastic bottle cap and last the piece of sponge it sits to the top which
is the oil because oil is much denser than the sponge.
To sum up everything each of the liquid has a different mass of molecules or different numbers
of parts squashed into the same volume of liquid; This makes them have different densities.
Therefore, one can sit on the top of the other-the more dense a liquid is the heavier it is.

CONCLUSION
After performing the experiment we’ve concluded that density is an important concept .
because it allow us to determine what substance will float and what substance will sink when
placed in a liquid. The higher the density of a liquid, the more buoyant an object placed within it
becomes. The purpose of this experiment is to understand the meaning and significance of the
density of a substance and densities are widely used to identify pure substances and to characterize
and estimate the composition of many kinds of mixtures.
