Watching T.V.

: A Two-Edged Weapon

Watching T.V. is a widely-spread habit. Millions of people spend their time gazing at the
screens. It has become as a kind of addiction. Some people find this habit of great benefits while
others consider it of great disadvantages.

Watching T.V. is a source of knowledge. A great number of T.V. programs present knowledge
about different domains of life. Some programs present knowledge about nature such as those
presented by “Discovery” and “National Geography” channels. Moreover, watching T.V. introduces
other countries habits, traditions and languages. Viewers are affected by these programs as they
widen their background information and enrich their horizon. Watching T.V. is also a source of
entertainment due to the great number of interesting programs , documentaries and films
presented daily on thousands of channels.

On the other hand, watching T.V. distracts people from their duties. It is a source or cause of
laziness. Most people spend much time watching T.V. instead of achieving their duties.

To conclude with, watching T.V. has great advantages. It provides us with information
about different aspects of life. It also introduces other countries habits, traditions and civilizations.
