BARANGAY ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING CURFEW HOURS FOR MINORS

WHEREAS, the safety and well-being of minors are paramount concerns of the Barangay;

WHEREAS, the imposition of curfew hours helps ensure the protection of minors from potential risks and
dangers during late hours;

WHEREAS, setting curfew hours can promote discipline, responsible behavior, and parental supervision
among minors within Barangay #4, Santa Maria, Vintar, Ilocos Norte;

NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Barangay Council of Barangay #4, Santa Maria, Vintar, Ilocos
Norte, in session assembled, that:

SECTION 1: TITLE. This ordinance shall be known as the "Barangay Ordinance Establishing Curfew Hours
for Minors."

SECTION 2: PURPOSE. The purpose of this ordinance is to establish curfew hours to regulate the
presence of minors in public places during late hours and to ensure their safety and well-being.

SECTION 3: CURFEW HOURS. Curfew hours for minors within Barangay #4, Santa Maria, Vintar, Ilocos
Norte, shall be as follows:
a) Sunday to Thursday: 10:00 PM to 5:00 AM of the following day.
b) Friday to Saturday: 11:00 PM to 5:00 AM of the following day.

SECTION 4: APPLICABILITY. The curfew hours specified in Section 3 shall apply to all minors below the
age of eighteen (18) years old residing within the jurisdiction of Barangay #4, Santa Maria, Vintar, Ilocos
Norte.

SECTION 5: EXCEPTIONS. The following are exceptions to the curfew hours:

a) Minors accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

b) Minors engaged in lawful employment or traveling to or from their place of work.
c) Minors attending or traveling to or from school-sanctioned events or religious activities.
d) Minors involved in emergencies or situations requiring immediate assistance.

SECTION 6: RESPONSIBILITIES OF PARENTS AND GUARDIANS. Parents or legal guardians of minors

are responsible for ensuring compliance with the curfew hours set forth in this ordinance. They shall take
reasonable steps to supervise and monitor the activities of their children during curfew hours.

SECTION 7: PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION.

a) Any minor found violating the curfew hours shall be apprehended by barangay officials and
brought to their parents or legal guardians.
 b) Parents or legal guardians of minors found violating the curfew hours shall be issued a warning
for the first offense. Subsequent offenses may result in fines as determined by the Barangay
Council.
c) Repeat violations by minors may result in community service or other appropriate interventions
as deemed necessary by the Barangay Council.

SECTION 8: ENFORCEMENT. The Barangay Council, together with barangay officials and law
enforcement agencies, shall enforce this ordinance and conduct regular patrols to ensure compliance with
curfew hours.

SECTION 9: AWARENESS CAMPAIGN. The Barangay Council shall conduct an information and
education campaign to raise awareness about the curfew hours established for minors within Barangay #4,
Santa Maria, Vintar, Ilocos Norte.

SECTION 10: EFFECTIVITY. This ordinance shall take effect fifteen (15) days after its approval and
posting in conspicuous places within Barangay #4, Santa Maria, Vintar, Ilocos Norte.
