Ensure that a valid work order and electrical work permit is prepared for the

activity.
Take valid Electrical work permit from authorized authority before starting any PM
2
activity on the L .T. Motor.
Isolate motor control centre as per corporate LOTO procedure before starting PM
3
activity.
4 Clean motor body, fan, fan cover, terminal box.
Visual check for any damages/missing of motor body i.e. Foot, terminal box,
5 cooling fan, cooling fan cover, lifting hook, cooling fins, DE, NDE bearing cover,
etc.
6 Check foundation bolts
7 Check for double earthing of motor
Open motor terminal box, discharge the terminals & Inspect for proper gland, the
8
condition of power cable and for any abnormality, discoloration and looseness
9 Check gland plate and seal the holes if open.
Clean the terminal box (If dust is more inside terminal box then check for source of
10
dust& rectify)
Check and record IR value of motor with power cable
11
(U-E/V-E/W-E/UV/UW/VW)
Check and record value of motor Winding Resistance along with power cable (U1-
12
U2/V1-V2/W1-W2)
13 Seal all possible dust entry points with sealant
14 Check Cable tightness at junction box if any
15 Check the condition of DE and NDE side end-seal
16 Open local push button station and clean it with blower.
Check push button elements for rust, corrosion, tightness of connections, damages
17
& proper operation.
Visually check SFU / MCCB / MPCB for any abnormalities like damages,
18
discolouration of power terminals.
Clean and check contactor contacts, replace with new ones if damaged and tighten
19
all incoming and outgoing Power connections
20 Record Motor FLC
Record Overload / MPCB range and setting and check with motor FLC it should
21
not more than FLC
22 Take trial of motor. Check motor direction.
23 Record Motor current.
