MODULE 5
NAME: Salic, Nadgira U. DATE: 12/9/2023
COURSE/YR/BLOCK: BSED III-8

Assignment:

Lay out and test the hypothesis for the given problems.

1. Clara wants to survey the 1000 workers coming from five different firms to find their average daily
commuting expense. Data collection shows the daily commuting expense of the samples averaged at
175 pesos. If Clara considered the PSA’s standard deviation of 28 pesos, could she establish the daily
commuting expense at 187 pesos with 99% confidence?

2. Learning Inc. wants to test if using a cooperative learning classroom framework for younger learners
can produce competitive students. The company decided to have the students answer a test based on the
NAT where the students got an average score of 82 and a standard deviation of 5.5. Can Learning Inc.
state that their students are above the passing grade of 75 with 90% confidence?

3. The School Division of Pangasinan conducts their annual health check for their students. Data from
teachers of different schools led them to have a sample of 10,000 students with an average BMI of 20.2
with a standard deviation of 3.71. Could the School Division say that the BMI of students is 22 with
