HOUSEKEEPING
1. PURPOSE & SCOPE:

• The purpose of this procedure is to lay down the guidelines for house keep-
ing

2. RESPONSIBILITY: ALL DEPARTMENTS

3. Housekeeping is carried out in the Plant as per the following principles:


3.1. SORTING OUT
• “Right thing at right place” is followed.

• Items are separated out accordingly to their purpose or use.

• Rejects or scraps are disposed off as per specified procedure.

3.2. SYSTEMATIC ARRANGEMENT


• Items are placed in prefixed or intended locations so that those are easily
accessible and retrievable.

• Items are clearly identified with name, number or location.

• Items are protected from being damaged & prevented from damaging
other items.

3.3. STICK TO SELF DISCIPLINE


• All employees of the Plant are disciplined and strictly following the rules &
procedures and maintaining standards while working.

• Don’t leave rubbish lying around, keep your work area clean & tidy.

• Keep all gangways, aisles and stairways clear.

• Wipe up split oil, grease or liquids immediately.

• Clear up turnings, off-cuts and strapping.

• Keep your tools safely when not in use.

• Use signs whenever necessary.

• Don’t leave loose tools on machines or on the ground.

• Keep all the tools & materials in their own place.
