SUB TOPIC: Background and performing Music- use of recorded Music.
CALA TITLE : Mimicking and dancing to theme related recorded music to entertain special visitors .

Background
A group of special visitors who are local Music producers have set a day to visit the school to see if the learners have knowledge and
appreciation for local Artists together with their music and Stage Performances. They are keenly interested in learners who can mime
local artists using theme related recorded music a concept you learnt in the subject PE and Mass display. The school’s sports
department has selected you to take part in this exercise.
The CALA
Has three parts A, B and C. You are required to complete all given tasks in these parts.
Part A
Carry out a research on the local musicians and their Music.
-Make a list of them and their recorded music
Identify the themes related to some of these local musicians’ recorded music.
-Choose a local artist from those you listed and make a detailed research on their music and the theme of any one of their song
Part B
Compile a write up of any form which brings out your research findings on a local artist/band of choice and themes in some of their recorded
songs
Mime the artist/band’s stage performance bringing out the theme of any of their recorded music.(can be done in groups)
How you will be assessed
You will be assessed on your ability to:
Carry out a research on local musicians and their Music themes and performances.
Identify and make a list of local artists and the themes related to their music.
Produce tools and notes of your research findings
Compile a writeup of choice
Mime and perform any Local artist/band of choice bringing out music themes form recorded music.

The CALA

- Identifying the themes related to some of these local musicians’ recorded music.
- Choosing a local artist from those the learner has listed and making detailed research on their music and the theme of any one of their songs.
Part B
Compiling a write up of any form which brings out learner’s research findings on a local artist/band of choice and themes in some of their
recorded songs
Mimicking an artist/band’s stage performance bringing out the theme of any of their recorded music. (can be done in groups)
