Genki Top

Vida y punto
Genki is a common word in the Japanese language that can be translated as health,
enthusiasm, spirit or energy. It encapsulates the idea of health and enthusiasm in a single
concept.
The Genki top is a sporty crop top, inspired by over-sized sweatshirts, designed to be very
comfortable to wear and allow total freedom of movement to face life with enthusiasm.
It is knitted in 2 pieces that are sewn at the end to create the complete top. It is knitted flat
with two needles and the pattern level is advanced beginner, with it you can see how to create

Pattern notes
The pattern is knitted in 2 unique pieces, after that stitches are picked up for ribbing the
neck and the sleeves.
Although it is not explicitly indicated in the instructions, it is recommended to make some
kind of selvedge so that the finishes are perfect. The selvedge that has been used is the
slipped garter edge that consists of doing the following on each row regardless of whether it
is the right side or the wrong side: Slip the first stitch knitwise and knit the last stitch. The
selvedge is included in the calculation of the piece, so it is not necessary to add any stitches
to those indicated in the instructions.
On page 5, after the instructions of the pattern, there are indications to adapt the length if
desired.
