Upgrades
Over-the-air upgrades improve your vehicle with the touch of a button.
Offering additional features and functionality that help customize your Tesla
vehicle to your needs, these upgrades are available for purchase from the
Tesla app.

Depending on your configuration, different upgrades will be available for your

vehicle and will automatically appear in the Tesla app. These upgrades do not
require a service visit and you can simply purchase with a payment method
on file. Unless otherwise specified, your vehicle will update when parked and
connected to Wi-Fi.

How do I know what upgrades I’m eligible for?

The Tesla app will always reflect the most up-to-date
upgrades that you’re eligible for.

What are the accepted methods of payment?

Upgrades can be purchased via credit card from the Tesla
app. You can adjust the selected card prior to check out by
editing your payment method.

How will I know once my car has completed an upgrade?

Your car will list any installed or available upgrades from the
‘Software’ tab in your car controls.

Are upgrade purchases refundable?

Yes. For upgrades purchased from the Tesla app, you can
request a refund from the Tesla app within 48 hours of
purchase. All refund conditions are available in your Tesla
app. If an upgrade was purchased in a Service Center, contact
your local Service Center.

You cannot receive a refund for subscriptions including

Premium Connectivity. Learn more about cancelling your
Premium Connectivity subscription.

upgrades offer optional improvements or feature sets to your
Tesla, which permanently enhance its overall performance or
capabilities, and are available for purchase.

Which cold weather upgrade am I eligible for?

Certain Model 3 Rear Wheel Drive and Model 3 Standard
Range Plus vehicles are eligible to purchase either a Cold
Weather Feature upgrade or a Rear Heated Seats upgrade,
depending on the below eligibility criteria.

Cold Weather Feature upgrade (including heated steering

wheel):

The vehicle is a Model 3 Rear-Wheel Drive or Model 3

Standard Range Plus.
The vehicle was delivered before November 1, 2021.

The vehicle was built with hardware for heated steering

wheel and rear heated seats.

Rear Heated Seats upgrade:

The vehicle is a Model 3 Rear-Wheel Drive or Model 3

Standard Range Plus.
The vehicle was delivered before November 1, 2021.

The vehicle was built with hardware for rear heated seats
only (retrofits not available at this time).

For Model 3 Rear-Wheel Drive and Model 3 Standard Range

Plus vehicles built after November 1, 2021, a heated steering
wheel and rear heated seats come standard.
