1. What is Nutrients? Nutrients are provided to the body via food
intake. They are responsible for the proper
functioning of the body, including the basic
growth, development, and repair
mechanisms in the body.
There are Two Large Quantities of
Nutrients and there are: Macronutrients and
Micronutrients.
Macronutrients - Carbohydrates, fat and
protein are called macronutrients. They are
the nutrients you use in the largest amounts.
Micronutrients - are vitamins and minerals
needed by the body in very small amounts.
