Assignment: Graphic Designer candidates

Dear Candidate,

Please design a booklet for the content that is there on this link

Here are some guidelines. You may use your creative freedom. The Booklet must consist of 4 sections –
Lesson, Class Assignment, Home Assignment and Assessment with each beginning on a new page.

1. Color Scheme
• Bright and Engaging: Utilize a vibrant color palette to attract and hold the attention of young
students. However, ensure the colors are not overwhelming.
• Contrast for Readability: Use contrasting colors for text and backgrounds to enhance
readability.

2. Typography
• Legible Fonts: Choose fonts that are easy for children to read. Sans-serif fonts like Arial or Calibri
are often more legible for young readers.
• Font Size: Use larger font sizes for main text and slightly smaller sizes for supplementary
information, keeping in mind the visual acuity of young learners.

3. Imagery and Illustrations

• Relevant and Engaging: Include images and illustrations that are directly related to the content
to help explain concepts and keep students engaged.
• Diverse and Inclusive: Ensure imagery reflects a diversity of cultures, genders, and backgrounds
to promote inclusivity.
• Educational Value: Illustrations should serve a purpose, such as demonstrating a concept or
providing visual cues for memory recall.

4. Layout and Organization

• Clear Hierarchy: Use headings, subheadings, and bullet points to organize information clearly
and help guide young readers through the material.
• Whitespace: Incorporate plenty of whitespace around text and between elements to reduce
visual clutter and improve comprehension.
• Consistent Layout: Maintain a consistent layout throughout the textbook to help students
navigate the material easily.

5. Interactive Elements
• Activities and Exercises: Include interactive elements like puzzles, quizzes, and projects to make
learning active and engaging.
• Questions and Reflections: Prompt students with questions or reflection boxes to encourage
critical thinking and personal connection to the material.

6. Accessibility
• Alt Text for Images: Provide alternative text for images and illustrations to support students
with visual impairments.
• Readable Design: Ensure the design is accessible to all students, including those with dyslexia or
other learning differences, by using appropriate contrasts, fonts, and spacing.
