Teaching Writing for Primary Levels

Tracing
• We have made already the letters by using
dotted lines.
• Using dotted line, the students can easily
write the words they are just over writing
those dotted lines.
• They can practice both their orthographic
skills by learning the letters.
Copying

• The students write the letter by themselves.

• They need model words for writing.
• It’s not very complex but it’s slightly more
complex.
Visualized
words
• Creating visual representations of words to
aid in understanding and memorization.
• Good way of practicing, not just the
spelling skills.
• Help students to remember the word
easily.
Matching

text & picture

• It’s a very common task that is very
frequently used in textbooks.
• The students are asked to copy the
words onto the right picture.
• They have to understand what they
have to copy to see which words or
pictures these words match.
Weather

reports
• Something you can stick to the
whiteboard and you can write every day.
• You can change it the next day.
• Writing weather reports is not only
educational but also practical, as it
encourages students to pay attention to
their surroundings and interpret weather
data.
