Daughter
walks towards the station and they meet in the middle of the lawn. Daughter gives B a long,
hard, stare.
Daughter: Fire in her eyes SORRY? YOU’RE SORRY? That means NOTHING! YOU
CAN’T BRING BACK MY DAD WITH THAT WORD, CAN YOU?
B: I didn’t mean to do it you know we were just trying to have fun for the FIRST
EVER TIME IN MY LIFE, but I didn’t know that it would go this far
Daughter: I didn’t know FUN was called killing people’s dads, people’s heroes, was
FUN scoffs
B: cries The one thing I can’t hide is when I am upset and crippled inside. You really
need to understand me when I say I am sorry. I have never felt this bad in my life and I feel like
killing myself instead of going to jail and killing myself on the inside.
Daughter: Hides her tears The loss of my father will always string in my heart
no matter how hard I try to understand that he is gone and gone forever. Do you even
understand that death leaves a heartache that no one can heal whatever you do?
B: Don't be ashamed to weep; it is alright to cry. Tears are only water, and flowers,
trees, and fruit cannot grow without water. But there must be sunlight also. A wounded heart
will heal in time, and when it does, the memory and love of our lost ones is sealed inside to
comfort us
Daughter: Yeah, you can stop with the quotation. GO TO HELL! DIG YOURSELF A
GRAVE AND DIE IN IT! I CAN EVEN STAND YOUR FACE WITHOUT VOMITING OR CRYING
BECAUSE THAT IS HOW UGLY YOU ARE! WHY DON’T YOU JUST GET OUT OF MY LIFE!
B: I’m sure you don’t mean those words. forces back the tears. I want
to help you get over this. We can do it together, there is no need to get angry at me, I am
broken too. Broken on the inside. With guilt. Guilt I don’t even know how to overcome.
B: I am sure they mean nothing to you right now but you will understand me one
day. At least I hope you will.
Daughter: Why on earth do you even care? You don’t know how it feels, do you?
