Nowadays, lots of people think that English is the only foreign language worth learning, but

I'm afraid I have to disagree with that. English has become the leading language of business,
science, and technology, so, no doubt, it's vital to know it, but it's not the only one that's
worth your time.
First of all, learning other foreign languages alongside English opens doors to exciting new
experiences, cultures, and connections. It's like discovering some hidden treasures, because
it allows you to connect with more people, understand their way of life, and make friends
from all over the world. Learning another language lets you see the world from a whole
new perspective and fills your life with adventure.
Secondly, not every person in this world can speak English. There is a huge variety of
languages spoken by millions of people. For instance, Chinese, German, Spanish, French, or
even Arabic. What is more, people mostly speak exclusively in their native language,
because it is considered correct if you come to their country and speak the language that is
native there.
In addition, although English has become the language of business, science, and technology
in our modern lives, I still think that life is about much more than that. We should expand
our minds with some background knowledge all the time, because it makes us more
intelligent and more tolerant. And what else can help us better than the knowledge of
different foreign languages?
All in all, I believe that although there are an infinite number of reasons why English should
be learned, we should never make such a huge mistake as rejecting the other languages
spoken by millions of inhabitants of our planet, thinking that they are less important than
English. As a famous proverb says, 'To have another language is to possess a second soul.'
