B. Motivation
Present pictures of different hazard and risk signs and symbols. Ask the students if
where they usually see those pictures and why do people need to be knowledgeable
about it. Process their answers and let it serve as spring board to the topic.
C. Lesson Proper

6. Hazards in Workplace
b. Provoking Questions:
1. What is the importance of Occupational Safety and Health in the workplace?
How will it help you to prevent the possible harm or accident in the
workplace?
2. Why do need to be aware about the standard procedure in setting up drawing
tools, materials, and equipment?
3. How accident prevention signs and symbols help you in identifying workplace
hazards?
4. How will you apply your new knowledge regarding OSH in day-to-day basis?
c. Exercises
Exercise 1
Directions: List down some procedure in setting up drawing tools, materials and
equipment and standard procedure in mechanical drafting.
Exercise 2
Directions: Select from the list below the type of workplace hazard that matches the
given definition or description.

substances, dust, fume or mist.
4. Anatomical, physiological, and psychological demands on the worker, such as
repetitive and forceful movements, vibration, extreme temperatures, and
awkward postures arising from improper work methods and improperly
designed workstations, tools, and equipment.
5. Noise, vibration, energy, weather, electricity, radiation and pressure.
D. Application
The students will be grouped into 8 groups. Each group should present a poster
about the precautionary measures or preventive actions to eradicate or eliminate
accidents and danger in workplace area. The poster should contain drawings or
objects that is related to the topic.
The students need to prepare drawing materials and tools such as pencil, markers,
white cartolina, ruler, coloring materials and other necessary materials in poster
making. All groups need to accomplish the activity in 45 minutes before the
presentation. Rubric will be used to rate the student’s output.
