Financial Support Information

For Issuance of Form I-20 or DS-2019

PLEASE READ THIS INFORMATION CAREFULLY. FAILURE TO FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS WILL DELAY PROCESSING YOUR
IMMIGRATION DOCUMENT.

If you need an I-20 or DS-2019, the University of Michigan is required by U.S. government regulations to obtain documentation proving that you
have adequate financial resources for your expenses and the expenses of your dependents. You are required to certify the availability of sufficient
funds in the form of bank statements, proof of support from a sponsor, or loan documentation.

Bank statements/funding sources you provide Ross for your I-20 / DS-2019 application must be the same documentation you bring to your visa
interview. The average visa interview is five minutes per person, so the more consolidated your bank statements are and the fewer funding
sources you provide, the smoother your visa interview will go.

Requirements for Documentation of Funds:

• All documents must be in English. If not, an official English translation, done by a certified translator, must accompany the original.
• All supporting documentation must be current.
