Guidelines for the Backlog Registration Process:

2. Grade conversion will be applicable as per table 1 for those courses which have been
offered in this Term 2022-23.

3. Conditions applicable for backlog registration:

A. For Continuing students: In addition to the courses for the current regular term of
the student, he/she shall be allowed to register in backlog courses if the student has
minimum 2.5 CGPA or equivalent percentage (in case of marks based programme).
i. If a student wants to register for only F/M/Fail grade courses, then he/she can
register for maximum of four F/M/Fail grade courses subject to availability
of clash-free time table schedule.
ii. If a student wants to register only G grade courses, then he/she can register for
maximum of nine G grade courses.
iii. A student wants to register both F/M/Fail and G grade courses, he/she can
register maximum of nine courses of which maximum of four F/M/Fail
grade courses can be registered subject to availability of clash-free time table
schedule.

B. For Non-Promoted students: A student, who is registering only for backlog


courses because of the non-promotion to the next year, the student can register for
F/M/Fail/G grade courses subject to course availability:
i. If a student wants to register for only F/M/Fail grade courses, then he/she can
register for maximum of nine F/M/Fail grade courses subject to availability
of clash-free time table schedule.
ii. If a student wants to register only G grade courses, then he/she can register for
maximum of thirteen G grade courses.
iii. A student wants to register both F/M/Fail and G grade courses, he/she can
register maximum of thirteen courses of which maximum of nine F/M/Fail
grade courses can be registered subject to availability of clash-free time table
schedule.
iv. If a student has studied more than nine courses in a single term according to
program scheme then student may apply for additional backlog courses by
putting RMS. RMS link has been shared in the end of this notification.
C. Registration in a course for additional courses/courses not mapped/not studied
by student: A student who is registering for additional courses/courses not
mapped/not studied by the students due to Change of Program, Term off/Year off,
Re-joining after gap or Migration is marked as “M” grade in result. Student will
be required to register the course(s) as F grade. “M” Grade cannot be converted to
G grade.

4. Fee for backlog registration: The student Registration will be confirmed subject to
payment of the backlog fee. The backlog fee shall be payable online through the fee
payment gateway.

i. For National Students including “Asia”: Backlog registration fee for a course
shall be 1/10th of the student’s standard tuition fee plus Rs.350/- as examination fee
and should be paid at time of registration through online mode only.
ii. For International Students: Backlog registration fee for a course shall be 1/10th
of the student’s standard tuition fee and USD 7 as examination fee and should be
paid through University Website as per
link: https://www.lpu.in/frmloginaccounts.aspx
iii. For scholarship holders or students for whom the fee has been waived off (fully or
partly) by the University, the backlog fee will be 1/10th of the actual or standard
tuition fee for the term and not the fee after scholarship or waiver.
iv. For students admitted to dual and / or integrated programmes, the backlog fee shall
be charged after considering whether the course pertains to the lower degree or the
higher degree.
v. In case a student’s batch has graduated or passed out, the backlog registration
fee for a course shall be 1/10th of the student’s standard tuition fee of the
programme plus Rs.350/- as examination fee.
vi. For term off and non-promoted students: Backlog fee will be 1/10 of his/her
fellow batch’s fee until his/her fellow batch student is studying that program.
Backlog fee will be 1/10 of the last term fee paid by his/her fellow batch in case the
batch has passed out.
vii. Once student has paid the backlog courses fee, courses cannot be De-registered.

5. Attendance Marking:
i. Attendance in backlog courses (excluding G grade) will be included in the
aggregate attendance of the student for the purpose of determining his/her eligibility
for appearing in the ETE and for calculating the detention list.
ii. Attendance will be counted from very next day of your registration confirmation
i.e. after confirmation of your fee payment.
iii. Classes for the registered course(s) will start from the next day of successful
registration.

6. Equivalency of Courses: Students are required to ensure that the equivalent course
allotted to them have not been previously studied by them. If equivalence course has
already been studied by them, then they are required to report the same immediately
through RMS. Also, for equivalent courses, the credits of the new course will be
applicable.
Note:
1. Ensure clash free registration as no change in time table shall be permissible later on.
2. The Preference filling tab is available on the backlog registration interface if a student
wishes to register for a course that is not currently offered or whose section strength
is full.
3. Step by Step guide for using the interface for backlog registration is attached along with
these guidelines.
