INTERPERSONAL INTRAPERSONAL

DAY 1: What is HUMSS Essential Report?

1
Students in HUMSS develop the needed knowledge and skills in bringing about positive change
through the study of social science theories and concepts, community-based realities, study of culture,
society and politics, and discussion on moral issues.

Concept Notes:

The HUMSS strand revolves around improving the students’ skills in reading, writing; and one of its
benefits is that your speaking skills and your creativity will also be enhanced. It will also help you
boost your self-confidence.

The HUMSS Essentials Report provides the class an opportunity to review the key concepts,
principles, and processes of the various disciplines.

There are different Group Action Plan in HUMSS

1. Group Formation - People form groups to use its numerous benefits. Members of a group help
each other in need, cooperate to reach goals, share resources, and, last but not least, provide
opportunities for social interaction, companionship, and support.

- What is group formation and its stages?

Psychologist Bruce Tuckman developed his group development model in 1965 to explain how
healthy teams cohere over time. Tuckman's model identifies the five stages through which groups
progress: forming, storming, norming, performing, and adjourning.

2. Group Building is a collective term for various types of activities used to enhance social relations
and define roles within teams or groups, often involving collaborative tasks.

3. Group Project Planning - Project planning is part of project management, which relates to the use
of schedules such as Gantt charts to plan and subsequently report progress within the project
environment. Project planning can be done manually or by the use of project management software.
Project planning is a procedural step in project management, where required documentation is
created to ensure successful project completion. Documentation includes all actions required to
define, prepare, integrate, and coordinate additional plans.

4. Group Project Implementation - Project implementation (or project execution) is the phase
where visions and plans become reality. This is the logical conclusion, after evaluating, deciding,
visioning, planning, applying for funds and finding the financial resources of a project. Technical
implementation is one part of executing a project.
