There are five levels in Maslow’s Hierarchy Pyramid. From the bottom of the
hierarchy upwards the needs are physiological [food and clothing], safety needs
[job security], love and belonging needs [friendship etc.], esteem follows and the
last one would be self-actualization that is on top of the pyramid. [Maslow’s

Nandos is a Portuguese style chicken restaurant started from South Africa in 1947
specialized in flame grilled chicken and hot sauces. Nandos uses segmentation to
target the market, ’Peir-Peri’ have determined their way of segmentation their
market. [Journals of Marketing 23, 2016 pg. 74-76]The company identified their
consumers’ needs and serve them with differentiated their market. Food is also
definite as psychological needs according to the Maslow Hierarchy of Needs
[Marketing an Introduction (3), 2022, pg128-129]. Understanding the consumers’
needs and provide the better information to improve marketing strategy thus
better competitive advantages. The company’s needs for customers’ needs to
change time to time in order to update trends and needs. Nandos also satisfies
esteem needs as in one of the of their principles is adding less fat and calories into
their food justifying that they care about their consumers wellbeing as well. The
last level in the pyramid is the safety and needs being a restaurants consumers
may want to sit down and dine at the restaurant so it is imperative they create an
environment where consumers feel safe in the surroundings. Which then
furthermore, increases customer loyalty to the organization. [Motivational
