◈ Introduction

In this manual, one of the following icons is used when demanding attention in a certain
sentence.
The following icons are used in WARNING, CAUTION and NOTE.

WARNING: To inform that injury to human bodies or damage to products may occur if not
abiding by the procedure prescribed by this document
CAUTION: To inform that damage to products may occur if not abiding by the procedure
prescribed by this document
☛NOTE: To inform useful information or procedure

In this manual, field engineer means those who are skilled in the installation of elevators.

This manual is applied to technicians who are highly skilled in the installation of microprocessor-based
elevators. Field workers must know all codes and rules used for the operation and safe installation of
elevator systems.

☛ NOTE: Clean up and arrange the control board and elevator controller connecting wires.
Stranded wires must be twisted before works to prevent short circuit that may occur when
sticking out from the terminal block. It must be checked if all controllers, field terminals and
cable connectors are properly arranged and tightened. In case of connecting a flat cable
connector, check the location of Pin No.1 to prevent damage that may occur to components. (The
location of Pin No.1 is traceable by using the arrow mark of the connector or the red line of the
cable).

CAUTION: No one but the approved personnel is authorized to have access to elevator
equipments and devices.

● General Safety Directions

- This manual shall be applied to those who are engaged in the operation and maintenance of this
elevator system.
- No one but qualified technicians shall be authorized for installation, test run and maintenance of this
elevator system. They shall be responsible to install elevators safely in compliance with the regulations
on elevator installation.
- Users shall abide by the directions for accident prevention prescribed by safety laws and the approved
regulations. Ignorance of these laws or regulations may cause severe damage to human lives, bodies
or properties.
- Incorrect installation, disassembly, maintenance, transformation or conversion of this elevator system
by an unqualified technician may be a risk-causing factor.

● System Connection and Test Run Directions

- Elevators shall be operated after confirming the safety condition.

- All electric works shall be conducted by qualified personnel after shutting down the power of the
elevator system
- For effective power shutdown in the initial motor driving stage, a shutdown device shall be installed,
the installer shall check the location of the shutdown device and remove the parts that may cause
operational risk.
- Accidents may occur in the rotating part of the motor. Therefore, other workers except the test run
operator shall keep a safe distance from the motor or the machine that is being operated.
- The motor under test run may work in an unexpected way, such as, due to incorrect parameter or
connection or may cause risk due to rotation toward an unexpected direction, excessive speed or
shaking. Accurate settings shall be established by referring to manuals and specifications because
inaccurate settings may incur damage to the mechanical part.
∙ Service and maintenance shall be conducted by qualified personnel. The power of the motor shall be
shut down before maintenance to prevent it from being restarted suddenly. The wires used for power
and control voltage shall be disconnected. Such disconnection must be confirmed. (Important)
∙ Shutdown the power of all main connectors before opening the inverter and wait at least for 20
minutes so that the remaining D.C voltage may be discharged completely.

1. CAR DOOR OPERATION MANUAL SYSTEM OVERVIEW

(1) OVERVIEW

HIDC-N BOARD is a control system that controls the inverter dedicated to controlling the elevator door
system and devices and safety circuits of all phases attached to a car. With a Cortex-M4-based CPU,
this board helps to establish the optimum door open-close system by controlling motors of
high-performance vector control mode as well as the location of elevator doors.

2. DOOR CONTROLLERINSTALLATION

2.1 INSTALL ENVIRONMENT & DIRECTIONS

** All field works shall be done in compliance with safety

(1) DOOR CONTROLLERINSTALL ENVIRONMENT

- Sufficient working spaces shall be prepared for the upper part of CAR.
- Electric lamps shall be prepared for the works on the upper part of CAR.
- The temperature of the upper part of CAR shall be maintained at -10℃ ~ 40℃
Otherwise the lifespan of the corresponding components may be shortened.
(Establish a temperature maintaining plan for other parts.)
- The humidity of the upper part of CAR shall be maintained at 20% ~ 90% RH.
- The upper part of CAR shall be protected from objects falling along the hoist way
or water leakage. Otherwise, damage to human lives, bodies or products may occur.

(2) DOOR CONTROLLER LOCATION

- DOOR CONTROLLER shall be attached to the designated location on the upper part of CAR.

(3) Directions
- DC 24V is applied to the communication between HIDC-N BOARD and CONTROL SYSTEM.
Therefore, thorough ground connection is required for all the necessary parts to prevent
malfunction that may be caused by external noise.
- All connecting wires are harnessed. Therefore, when inserting a connector, the connector
number must be checked, and it must be connected correctly at the designated location.
Wires shall be connected correctly to prevent malfunction and damage to components that may
be caused by contact inferiority or incorrect insertion.
- DOOR CONTROLLER is equipped with HIDC-N BOARD. Therefore, be careful that no damage
to components may be incurred by water leakage.
- DOOR CONTROLLER is located on the upper part of CAR that runs along railways.
Therefore, be careful that no jamming of cables and no interference to structures may occur
when running CAR.

(Distance Measurement Drive Mode: Door Open Drive at low speed and then Close Drive
again)
⑨ After completing door distance measurement, check the following parameters.
- Check if 01 MONITOR / 01 BASIC / LENGTH MEASURE data is ‘Done’. If the data is
'Needed', distance measurement has not been completed yet. Therefore, repeat the
above-stated procedure.
- Check if 01 MONITOR / 04 TRIP DATA / OPENING LENGTH data is equal to the measured
distance.

4.2 MANUAL CONTROL METHOD

To control DOOR manually, push AUTO/MANUAL switch in CAR TOP BOX and set it to Manual
Mode.

(1) MANUAL CONTROL BY HHT KEY PAD

① After completing door distance measurement, set 02 PROGRAM / 04 FACTORY / 18 DRV
WITH HHT to ON.
② After setting 02 PROGRAM / 04 FACTORY / 18 DRV WITH HHT, check if door open/close is
normal by selecting OPEN Cmd and CLOSE Cmd of 19 DRIVING TEST repeatedly.

③ After inputting CLOSE Cmd and confirming door close status, input ‘No Command’.

(2) MANUAL CONTROL BY SWITCH IN CAR TOP BOX

① DOOR can be open/closed by using OPEN/CLOSE switch in DOOR CONTROLLER.

⑧IGBT ERR

In this case, it is required to confirm if error has occurred to IPM or circuits

(related to GATE SIGNALor SMPS). To solve this, technical support of maintenance experts
of the headquarter is required. If circumstances do not allow such technical support,
replace HIDC-N BOARD.

⑨DOUBLE DIR

This is the case that there is a simultaneous input of OPEN/CLOSE drive signals from CP.
To solve this, it is required to reset the system by pushing Reset button(S1) in HIDC-N BOARD
or reconnect CN10 Connector if considered that this is an error related to contact inferiority.
If DOUBLE DIR error continues in spite of taking a corrective measure, check the related
signals in the control system. If confirmed that nothing is abnormal, replace HIDC-N BOARD.
