For this week’s discussion board, I have chosen David as the person in the Bible who I most

identify most with out of, David, Jonathan, Daniel, or Nehemiah. David can be seen in the bible
as a man who has confidence in God and therefore himself. For example, David did not hesitate
to stand up to the giant Goliath even as boy. Though Goliath was big and frightening, David
knew that God would always be bigger and stronger. David decided to trust God and defeated
Goliath against all odds. In courageous faith it states, “He has defied the living God!” David
said, “He’s the one who’s in big trouble here, not me!” “(Hindson, 2003.) The reason I relate to
David is because he trusted God and the outcome was good. There have been many instances in
my life where I have decided to trust God even when I may be afraid or think I don’t have the
courage to do something. Time after time God has been there for me and delivered me from
circumstance with safety and grace. When I have trusted God things have always worked out
well even if I couldn’t tell in the beginning. Gods’ plans are ultimate, and I’ve learned that
trusting him is the only way to go because I cannot control my fate and future no matter how
hard I try. With the strength of God, I have been able to defeat my own personal goliaths. I hope
to continue to have faith like David’s. I must remember not to fear what’s bigger or scarier than
me because I have the ultimate being, God, with me always.
