1. Date/Time : Date: 18.06.2023 Pump withdrawn @ Time: 07:30 Hrs.

2. Operating conditions at the time of Event :-

Load MW Coal Cycles in service Oil Support

536 MW A, B, C, D, E NO

3. Nature of Event : Running ACW Pump – 1 was changeover to ACW Pump – 2 as ACW Pump – 1 was having Very High
Vibrations as per CMC.

4. Observations :- ACW Pump – 1 was running and its MTR NDE Y-Axis Vibrations increased from 6.8 mm/s to 8.23 mm/s.
CMC section was called to take vibrations at local.
Readings were as below:
PCR DCS : NDE – X/Y – 0.1938/8.2361 DE – X/Y – 9.0116/1.8410
CMC Report : NDE – X/Y – 15.82/8.79 DE – X/Y – 4.75/2.14

Difference in NDE-X and DE-X of PCR DCS and CMC report was Very High.
NDE-Y was also High. Hence, changeover was done from ACW Pump – 1 to ACW Pump – 2.
The Difference observed between DCS and Local values is very crucial and need to be taken care of on priority basis as
the Desk Operator always monitors the DCS value and some mishap may occur due to this variations.

5. Set Tripped : Tripped / Hand Tripped / Withdrawn - NIL 6. Whether Soot Blowing was is progress : YES/NO - NO

7. HP heaters (In Service / Not) : I/S

8. Name of First Up, Main Protections & protection on which GCB tripped: NIL

9. Indications Appeared : Alarm MTR NDE Y-Axis HIGH 10.Relays Operated: NIL
appeared and persist.
