UNIT-9 SHUTDOWN DEFECTS LIST

front bearing. Leakages increases at high speed.
5 CRH NRV (RHS) bonnet leakage.
6 MDBFP parting plane bolt leakage of booster pump.
7 CEP A,B, C mech seal leakage.
8 High energy drains coming to AFT have MIV passing. Heavy steam coming from
AFT exhaust to atmosphere.
9 HPH 6A vent to DA line have leakage through MIV avove deaerator.

DA op vent line (u8 side) have bottom flange leakage ( switch yard & u-10 side)
11 HPH B stream O/L 3 way valve dump line MIV gland leakage.
12 CRH extraction (for HPH 7A /7B) drain line pipe leakage near CV ( at 24 mtr in
front of staircase)
TDBFP B vapour extractor fan B casing vapour leakages observed when fan is when fan A is running

running. no vapour leakages.
14 HPH-8A LT-A MIV (upper u-10 side) gland leakage
15 HPH 7B LT-A drain valve passing
16 HPH 7B start up vent line leakage neav start up MOV
17 HPH- 7A to 6A normal drain line vent MIV ( near 6A) is paassing
18 TDBFP drain pit dewatering pumps A and B have poor discharge
19 CEP pit dewatering pump B have poor / nil discharge.
20 ACW PHE cleaning required.
21 ACW pump discharge line strainer cleaning required.
22 MOT oil purifier filter suspected chocked. DP across filter very high ( above 2.5
kg/cm2)
23 To control stator water flow SCCW pump DV is throttled up to 50 % . Provision of
orifice plate or recirculation CV needs to be checked.
24 LPBP spray line orifice impulse tapping is passing.
25 NAOH dosing skid not commissioned.
26 vacuum drain tank overflow leakage through tank top man hole.
27 DMCW pump-1 (TG) seal leakage.
28 TDBFP-A O2 dosing line leakage near TDBFP suction line at 17 mtr floor.
29 HPH feed water I/L line dump SOV strainer cap leakage at 3.5 mtr platform MIV closed to arrest
above CEP. leakage.
30 Condenser water box vent line size needs to be increased and platform to be
extended
31 H2 purging line valve dowel pin frequently gets broken, also needs additional v/v
in purge line
32 Oil purifier 0.0 mtr oil leakage from flange near pump.
33 MOT vapour extractor fan-2 oil leakage from fan casing. to be confirmed.

Additional support to be provided to vaccum pump separator tank make up line.
TDBFP running through CRH extraction trial not taken. CRH line flushing/

cleaning required.
36 TDBFP A outlet MOV manwheel obstructing with side pipeline
37 Approach/ platform in TDBFP drain pit as done in U-8 & U-10

Transformer yard cable trench is always filled with water even after dewatering.

48 Supply to portable water tank inlet MOV not available provisions of low tank
level to be provided.
49 TDBFP_A /B and MDBFP all RC valve jammed, greasing to be provided

TDBFP_A/B and MDBFP suction strainer drain need funnel arrangement.
51 TDBFP_A suction valve integral bypass cannot be operated due to improper
approach
52 TDBFP_B RC valve hard to operate and its bypass valve wheel missing
53 TDBFP_A RC miv wheel cotter arrangement to be done
54 Main Turbine gland sealing drain (9 m) funnel arrangement to be done.
55 Overhead tank of portable water overflow line towards TDBFP drain peat need
to be diverted outside in drainage
56 Arrangement too be done for measuring MOT level manually

Vibrations
1 SCCW pump-B having vibrations up to 6.1 mm/sec
2 CEP 1 & 2 pump vibrations
3 DMCW pump 2 &3 having vibrations
4 ACW 1 and 2

Platform/ approach:
1 Platform for CEP thrust bearing oil level checking / oil top-up.
2 Platform for operating TDBFP A & B aux steam MIV and its int bypass.
3 Grating to be cut for operating TDBFP A &B SV int bypass MIV.
4 Side railing to be cut & re-routed for access to HPH 7A/7B level transmeter.
5 grating missing on 3.5 mtr platform near TFT.
6 unwanted material ( pipes pieces, valves, angles, scffholding) to be removed
from platform above Deaerator. (24m, 17m, 9m and 0m)
7 CEP pit needs platform also approach to monitor oil level
8 TDBFP A and B AUX STM I/L MIV needs platform
9 TDBFP A and B needs proper approach and platform for manual barring
10 Hotwell drain v/v needs proper approach
11 Condencer pit needs approach from HP shell vacuum pump side to reach OLTCS
pumps and drain pit pumps

TDBFP pit needs proper platform also the firefighting line needs modification
13 TDBFP_A and B and MDBFP rc valve at 32m need approach

HPH_6A/7A, 6B need proper approach for operating MIV of level transmitter
15 3 way valve (17m and 24m) need proper approach
16 LPH 3 drains need proper funnel arrangement

TDBFP_A/B suction strainer vent and drain need proper drainage arrangement
18 HPH_7B require funnel arrangement for drainage
19 CW vent valve platform extension work
20 H2 purging station need closed mesh cabinet for safety purpose
21 CRH drain valve (MIV) to AFT no approach

Space between grill and floor to be filled for safety purpose near LLD rack
23 TDBFP_A/B exhaust MOV platform required for manual operation
