Working closely in conjunction with the two Trusts and fellow professionals, we have assisted
with the preparation of OBC and ITN stages and prepared option development strategies,
defined the functional content and prepared schedules of accommodation, analysed
adjacencies and internal planning requirements and liaised with external agencies (Health

Design & Process: Approach

Great designs emerge from a fusion

of genuine passion, the considered
application of talent and the
realisation of extensive experience.

Design is at The Centre of What We Do

Aedas seeks to work closely with clients to understand their

intentions, and through the creative process, develop a
physical product that functions beyond expectations.
Our designs must add value to what our clients do,
contribute positively to the built environment, be
sustainable, meet a multitude of legislative parameters, and
create a place that generates a sense of pride, comfort,
delight and belonging.

At Aedas, we use an evidence-based approach throughout

the design process. This approach involves us as architects
working with an informed client to make design decisions
based on best practice. We base our methodologies on
current information gathered through credible research,
previous project evaluations and current project predictive
performance.
Design & Process: Approach

The Aedas R&D Group focuses on

developing design and knowledge
management tools, best practice
processes and key performance
indicators – contributing invaluable
guidance to each project and its
unique opportunities.
Five Key Concepts:

1. To continually seek to improve and achieve optimum results through a

systematic and continuous review process.
2. To attract, retain and train the best people, achieved through the recruitment
of talented designers and continuous professional development.
3. To benefit from the lessons of previous projects, and undertake a project
pathology through which we can understand both lost and exploited
opportunities.
4. To embrace innovation and develop tools suited to design needs, and to
undertake continuous and comprehensive research and development.
5. To ensure that the relationship between sustainability and high-quality design
is clear and remains a central part of the Aedas ethos.
