Nearly six million people in Canada live below the poverty line, which is 1 in 5 Canadians.
Among First Nations Children, 53% on reserve and 41% off reserve experience poverty.
Non-Status First Nations children have a 31% child poverty rate.
Inuit and Métis children have poverty rates of 25% and 22%, respectively.
