Introductory Letter to Parents or Guardians (CBM9-Welcome Parent Letter)

Dear Parents or Guardians,

Let me introduce myself, I am a graduate of Prairie View A & M University, with a degree
of science. I am looking forward to a new term as your child’s teacher. This year will be
an exciting time for all of us!
To accomplish this, we have a list of policies that students must follow, so that we are all
on the same page guaranteeing to head us in the right direction for an excellent school
year. One of my policies, is the raise your hand to ask a question policy. This ensures that
all students get a fair opportunity to learn and grow. Also, we have a beginning of the
class procedure that all students must follow. Students will get the opportunity to learn
their morning routines during the first week of school. This allows for the classroom to
flow smoothly, and can create optimum results for success by decreasing distractions.
Students and their parents or guardians are naturally curious about due dates on
assignments and the flow of turning work in. Students will always turn their work in the
front of the classroom. There will be homework assignments on Friday nights. You
should expect to see your child spending 30 minutes reviewing, reading, working on
projects, or studying. A copy of the weekly schedule will be given to each student to
keep in his or her binder as well as posted on ClassDojo. In addition, students are
expected to copy their vocabulary words into their journal at the beginning of class each
day.
When you have any questions, or wish to talk with me about your child, please feel free
to email me Crystal.Foston@houstonisd.org or call me at 346-401-2830.
I am looking forward to working with my new students this year. I am also looking
forward to meeting you and working with you to help your child succeed.

Best wishes,

Crystal Foston
