LESSON PLAN IN ENGLISH GRADE THREE

I.OBJECTIVE: At the end of the lesson, you are expected to:


1. the tense give us the knowledge of the time of happening of an event.
2.we use tenses to define the time of happening of an action.
3. so, precisely, tense gives us an idea of when a particular action take place.

II.Subject matter: example


Topic: tense (present, past, future)

Materials: flashcards, cartoonist, markers pictures


Procedure:
1. Preliminary

2. review_____ Am is, are, was, were, be-verb-are verbs of being. They do not express action
they tell what something is.
3. motivation:
What am, is, are, was, or were to complete each sentence
a. I am in grade three.
b. Marvin is my brother.
c. We are going to Baguio city.
4.They were at the church yesterday.
5.Mike was kind to his father.
REMEMBER:
Am – is used with the pronoun I.
Is – is used with singular noun or pronoun subjects.
Are – is used with plural noun or pronoun subjects.
Was – is the past form of am and is.
Were – is the past form of are.
For today lesson; we will be learning about simple tenses of verbs.
What is verb -Verb tells an action that indicate the state of being it is the action word in a
sentence that describe what the subject is doing verb can express in different tenses.
VERBS COME IN THREE TENSES
Present tense
Past tense
Future tense
The simple present tense describes an action that is regularly or habitually done.
1. Use the -s form of the verb with singular nouns or the pronouns he,she and it.
Example. ELLA waters the garden plants every afternoon.
He wants to visit his parents.
SIMPLE PRESENT TENSE
2.Use base form (without-s)with plural nouns or the pronouns we they.and you.
Example. -People clean the yards every morning.
-They plant more trees and flowering plants.
-You stay away from me.
Simple present tense
If the verb ends in -y. change the -y to -I before adding -es.
Example. The dog cries for help. Cry - cries
4.Use the base from of the verb with the pronoun I.
Example. I want to help the poor.
Verbs that show actions or events done in the past are in the past tense.
1. Regular verbs form their past by adding -d or -ed to their base forms.

2. Verbs ending in-y form their past by changing the -y to then adding -ed.

3.Irregular verbs change in spelling when they are used to show past tense. Here are some
examples of irregular verbs with their past forms.

The simple future tense expresses on action that will happen in the future or coming time.
1.will or shall plus the base form of the verb is used to express the simple future tense.
Example. Mark will fix my car.
We shall go to breakfast at 8.00.
2.shall is used with I or we in formal expression.
Example. I shall wash several laundry of loads tomorrow.
We shall make kare-kare for dinner tomorrow.
