Ramadan with Lonely Orphans
In the heart of Gaza, amidst the echoes of conflict,
lies the untold stories of the youngest victims - the
children of war.

The children of Gaza have had their lives cut short by

circumstances beyond their control, leave behind a silence
that echoes across the globe. As we bear witness to their
stories, we are reminded of our shared humanity and the
power we hold to enact change.

This Ramadan, our aim is to shed light on the tragedy

that has befallen these innocent lives and to inspire a
movement of legacy giving that can transform sorrow into
hope and healing for orphans and vulnerable children who
are still with us.

Together, we’re saving lives.

1. Introduction to Ramadan and
the Importance of Du’a
Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, and it is a time
of fasting, prayer, and reflection for Muslims around the world as
per the divine commandment from Allah ‫ﷻ‬:

O you who believe! fasting is prescribed for you, as it was prescribed for
those before you, so that you may guard (against evil).
(Al-Baqara, 2:183)

During this month, Muslims abstain from food, drink, and other
physical needs from dawn until sunset to purify the body and soul
and get closer to Allah ‫ﷻ‬.

One of the most important aspects of Ramadan is the practice of

making Du’a and supplications, which are prayers and requests
made to Allah. Du’a are an essential part of Muslim worship and are
a way of seeking Allah’s ‫ ﷻ‬help and guidance in all aspects of life.

During Ramadan, Muslims are encouraged to increase their Du’a

and Supplications, as this is a time of great spiritual significance and
blessings. In fact, the Prophet Muhammad ‫ ﷺ‬said, "When Ramadan
enters, the gates of Paradise are opened, the gates of Hellfire are
closed, and the devils are chained." This means that in Ramadan,
it is easier to seek Allah’s ‫ ﷻ‬forgiveness and ask for His mercy and
blessings.

We have compiled a collection of Du’a and supplications from

Qur’an and Sunnah that are particularly useful during Ramadan.
These Du’a cover various topics, from seeking forgiveness and good
health to asking for protection and guidance.

4
The correct etiquette of making
Du’a properly
Du’as are an essential part of our daily worship and communication
with Allah. However, it is crucial to understand that our Du’a
depends on our focus, sincerity, and preparation level.

1. Choose the right time and place. Choose a time and place where
you are least likely to be distracted or interrupted. It is best to
make Du’a during the times of the day when it is most likely to be
answered, such as after the obligatory prayers, during the last third
of the night, and during the time of breaking the fast in Ramadan.
Make sure the place is clean and quiet, and you are facing the Qiblah
if possible.

2. Perform ablution. Performing ablution (wudu) before making

Du’a is highly recommended. Ablution purifies our body and mind
and increases our level of focus and sincerity in Du’a.

3. Start with praising Allah. Start your Du’a by praising Allah

and recognising His power and mercy. This helps us to connect
with Allah ‫ ﷻ‬and to acknowledge His greatness and goodness. For
example, you can start your Du’a by saying «SubhanAllah» (Glory
be to Allah) or «Alhamdulillah» (All praise is due to Allah).

4. Ask for forgiveness. Ask Allah ‫ ﷻ‬for forgiveness for any sins
or mistakes you may have committed, and seek His mercy and
guidance. This helps us remove any obstacles that may be blocking
our Du’a and increase our humility and sincerity.

5. Make Du’a with conviction and sincerity. Make Du’a with a

strong conviction that Allah ‫ ﷻ‬will answer your Du’a and with
sincerity of heart. This means you should fully trust Allah’s power
and mercy and avoid any distractions or insincere intentions.

6. End with praising Allah and sending blessings upon the Prophet‫ﷺ‬.
End your Du’a by praising Allah ‫ ﷻ‬and sending salutations upon
the Prophet‫ﷺ‬, as this is a way of showing gratitude to Allah ‫ ﷻ‬and
seeking His blessings and mercy.

5
We hope this Du’a book, produced and compiled by Lonely Orphans,
will be a useful resource for Muslims during Ramadan and help
deepen our connection with Allah ‫ ﷻ‬and gain the maximum benefit
from this blessed month.

We pray you remember your brothers and sisters in other parts of

the world who are less fortunate than us and are suffering from
poverty and affliction through no fault of their own.

Indeed, as Allah ‫ ﷻ‬mentions to us in the Qur’an:

َ ِ ‫ِكِر‬
‫يَن‬ ٰ
‫لَٰم‬ ‫ٱ‬ ُ
‫ُري‬ َ
‫َخ‬ ُ
‫ُه‬َ‫ََوٱلَّل‬
ِ
“And Allah is the best of planners.” (Al-Anfal, 8:30)

We should use every opportunity available to us to give in charity

and to help others in need, especially during Ramadan.

6
2. Daily Du’a and Supplications

It is important for Muslims to engage in daily remembrance of Allah,

seeking His blessings, guidance, and forgiveness throughout the day.

O Allah, join our hearts, mend our social relationship, guide us to

the path of peace, bring us from darkness to light, save us from
obscenities, outward or inward, and bless our ears, our eyes, our
hearts, our wives, our children, and relent toward us; Thou art the
Relenting, the Merciful. And make us grateful for Thy blessing and
make us praise it while accepting it and give it to us in full.

7. Importance of Du’a in Ramadan

Ramadan is a blessed month for Muslims, and it provides us with

a unique opportunity to renew our faith and connect with Allah
through various acts of worship, including Du’as and Supplications.
Du’as are a means of seeking Allah’s guidance, blessings, and
forgiveness, and they are a powerful tool for strengthening our
relationship with Him.

In this short book, we have compiled a list of Du’as that are

relevant to various aspects of our lives, such as health, family, and
community. We have also provided some tips on preparing for Du’a
to make them more effective and meaningful. If you would like to
learn more Du’as and supplications for different aspects of your life,
please download a copy of the Hisnul Muslim from here: https://
ahadith.co.uk/downloads/en_hisn_al-muslim.pdf

It is essential to understand that the power of Du’a lies not only in

reciting specific phrases or supplications, but also in having a strong
Imaan (belief) and Yaqeen (conviction) in Allah’s power over all
things and that His mercy prevails over everything. Du’a is a means
of connecting with Allah and seeking His guidance, and they are not
a substitute for taking practical steps towards achieving our goals or
solving our problems – we need to take the first step – and then rely
upon our Lord. Indeed, narrated in a hadith (Sahih Muslim):

22
Abu Dharr reported: The Messenger of Allah‫ ﷺ‬said,

“Allah Almighty says:

Whoever comes with a good deed will have the reward of ten like it
and even more. Whoever comes with an evil deed will be recompensed
for one evil deed like it or he will be forgiven. Whoever draws close to
Me by the length of a hand, I will draw close to him by the length of an
arm. Whoever draws close to Me the by length of an arm, I will draw
close to him by the length of a fathom. Whoever comes to Me walking,
I will come to him running. Whoever meets Me with enough sins to fill
the earth, not associating any partners with Me, I will meet him with as
much forgiveness.”

During Ramadan, we should strive to make Du’a a regular part of

our daily routine and use this blessed month to strengthen our
relationship with Allah.

Let us take advantage of this opportunity to seek Allah’s guidance

and blessings, and may He accept all of our Du’as and supplications.
Ameen.
