1. Introduction to Ramadan and
the Importance of Du’a
Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, and it is a time
of fasting, prayer, and reflection for Muslims around the world as
per the divine commandment from Allah ﷻ:
O you who believe! fasting is prescribed for you, as it was prescribed for
those before you, so that you may guard (against evil).
(Al-Baqara, 2:183)
During this month, Muslims abstain from food, drink, and other
physical needs from dawn until sunset to purify the body and soul
and get closer to Allah ﷻ.
4
The correct etiquette of making
Du’a properly
Du’as are an essential part of our daily worship and communication
with Allah. However, it is crucial to understand that our Du’a
depends on our focus, sincerity, and preparation level.
1. Choose the right time and place. Choose a time and place where
you are least likely to be distracted or interrupted. It is best to
make Du’a during the times of the day when it is most likely to be
answered, such as after the obligatory prayers, during the last third
of the night, and during the time of breaking the fast in Ramadan.
Make sure the place is clean and quiet, and you are facing the Qiblah
if possible.
4. Ask for forgiveness. Ask Allah ﷻfor forgiveness for any sins
or mistakes you may have committed, and seek His mercy and
guidance. This helps us remove any obstacles that may be blocking
our Du’a and increase our humility and sincerity.
6. End with praising Allah and sending blessings upon the Prophetﷺ.
End your Du’a by praising Allah ﷻand sending salutations upon
the Prophetﷺ, as this is a way of showing gratitude to Allah ﷻand
seeking His blessings and mercy.
5
We hope this Du’a book, produced and compiled by Lonely Orphans,
will be a useful resource for Muslims during Ramadan and help
deepen our connection with Allah ﷻand gain the maximum benefit
from this blessed month.

Praise is to You, You are the King of the heavens and the earth.
And praise is to You.
You are the Truth, Your Promise is true, Your Word is true,
Your audience is true.
Forgive me what I have sent before me and what I have left behind me,
what I have concealed and what I have declared.
You are the One Who sends forth and You are the One Who delays,
there is none who has the right to be worshipped but You.
O Allah, I seek help from You, ask forgiveness from You, and believe in You and
praise You for all the good things and are grateful to You and we part and break
off with all those who disobedient to You. O Allah, You alone do we worship
and pray exclusively to You and bow before You alone and we hasten eagerly
towards You and fear Your severe punishment and hope for Your mercy, for Your
severe punishment is surely to be meted out to the disbelievers.

4. Du’a for Forgiveness
As human beings, we are prone to making mistakes and committing
sins. However, Ramadan is a time when we are encouraged to seek
forgiveness from Allah and repent for our sins. In this section, you
will find Du’as, which can help us to seek forgiveness from Allah and
to ask for His mercy and blessings.
Astaghfirullah
(recite this phrase as often as possible throughout the day)
O Allah, You are my Lord, there is no god but You. You created me
and I am Your servant. I am trying my best to keep my covenant and
promise with You. I seek refuge in You from the evil of what I have
done. I acknowledge Your blessings upon me, and I confess my sins.
Please forgive me, for no one can forgive sins except You.
