Personal Agility and Resilience in an Ambiguous World

On June 1,2023 THRIVE: DME Mentoring Cell and MERAKI: Society for
mental health at DME in coordination with DME Management School
organised a session on- Personal Agility and Resilience in an Ambiguous
World under the Parent Mentor Knowledge series.
The event was graced by the benign presence of our guest speaker Dr Tazyn,
MD at IARA Research Solutions Pvt Ltd. Curators of the event were Dr Swati
Jain (Head Mentoring Cell) and Ms Priyanshi Jain (Head Mental Health
Society). The session commenced with an introductory speech about the
societies, faculty coordinator and the speaker, by Muskan Sharma who anchored
the event.
This interactive session aimed to felicitate deliberations around the topic of
Personal Agility and Resilience. The event progressed with the felicitation
ceremony of our keynote speaker with a token of appreciation given to them by
Dr Poorva Ranjan, H.O.D: DME Management School, who then addressed the
audience regarding the need to find the real motive behind living and role model
in our lives. The anchor then invited Dr Tazyn to share some insights with the
mentees. She addressed, the need to ‘support and develop' as it is of utmost
importance for during hardships.
Dr. Tazyn shared her life story, addressed how despite being an academic
scholar, she became a victim to Bipolar Disorder and faced suicidal tendencies
in early teens. She also narrated her journey towards the path of self-acceptance
with the support of her loved ones. Dr Tazyn expressed her resistance against
medicinal cures for mental health issues and emphasized her belief towards
neurological treatments.
Her second story was her very own fight against cancer, and how she overcame
the struggles and breakdowns that followed. In order to survive the hardships
life throws against us, one needs to be in control of their mind and practice
optimism.
She stressed the importance of having a support system behind yourself during
highs and lows. Instances shared by her showed how she tried to enjoy the
smallest moments in life despite the impending danger that surrounded her. Her
documentation displays that she is a fighter and how we should motivation from
the people around us during stark times. Dr Tazyn also suggested to embrace
optimism in live and to avoid negative energies that may hinder your growth
towards becoming a happy soul. “The life that many of us are leading were is a
dream to many” – were her words as she addressed the importance of
gratefulness in life. Dr Tazyn also conducted a small activity where she asked
the audience to meditate and realise five things that they are grateful for.
The session ended on a fun note with Dr Tazyn swinging to the beats of the
song – Dear Zindagi, expressing her thankfulness towards life and its beauty.
