The 360 Degree Leader Summary

I learned how being a leader can be more complicated than what it looks like
and discovered 9 effective ways that can help me become into one:

1. Increase my influence: Being a leader is not related to a job position, lifting

others up is key and moving them, we don’t establish control, we influence,
because it’s my duty to try to get the effectiveness out of my team, being that
the reason why I should always prioritize the positive impact or influence I
can give to them.
2. Leaders are not necessarily leaders when they have a raise: I don’t need to
reach the top to lead others, being a leader is a characteristic, is something I
can start developing from my current job position, of course wanting to climb
the ladder is part of the process, but it should never become the start of my
way to become a leader.
3. With more responsibilities, pressure comes within: I learned that more
salary=More work, being a leader is not about making others work and chill,
it’s about earning more because I do more.
4. It’s not about personal gains but helping others: Selfishness is not the way,
my benefit without helping others will only benefit me temporarily in a
company, helping others will be more beneficious.
5. By creating more leaders, I can Succeed: Knowledge is power, and sharing
it is one of the most authentic ways of giving back to others and show
empathy for them to grow, I can move as forward as I want to go, but taking
the time to teach others how to keep up with me will be better in the long
way term.
6. Stress will get us, so we’ll need to deal with it: Stress management is an
acquired ability that can get hard at times but as a leader, it’s such an
important process to follow to help others and provide the bests solutions.
7. Selfishness and incompetence will make my company fail: Projecting my
insecurities in others is not the way to success. I shouldn’t fire bad leaders; I
should make them grow and overcome their weaknesses for them to be part
of the solution and not the problem.
8. We need to appreciate our current position: Complaining is not something
that will exactly bring me any good, thankfulness can lead me to the places I
want to get in an easier way, to grow we need to understand where we are
and how we can improve the present to prepare for the future.

9. Leaders are icebergs, they only show the tip of it (achievements) but it’s not
like that: To look good I must keep looking for ways to be better every day,
hard work must still be present, and reading books will always help.

What I learned from the training was how my emotions can change with time,
but I must manage and control myself to keep being productive while affected
by emotions, emotions will never stop existing in our bodies but there are many
ways to help fighting against them.

I also learned that things may not be as easy as they seem at the beginning,
challenges will always come in anything we do, so that’s why patience will come
in handy when working in something else that may require more effort from
ourselves.

A positive mind is one of the most comfortable places to be in, so that’s why my
mindset should change and focus on the good to become my better version.
