REFLECTION PAPER

This is my second time attending a Research Colloquium actually the first time I thought it was

so boring but when they started to talk in the front, I found it interesting to listen to how they

came up with their own different study. The annual research colloquium was an enlightening and

enriching experience. It provided a platform for sharing and discussing a wide range of research

topics, fostering a culture of knowledge and innovation. One of the most striking aspects of the

colloquium was the sheer breadth of topics covered. From the acceptability of amaranth (kulitis)

as a substitute to corn flour in making chips, the acceptability of cassava and malunggay in

bibingka, dragon fruit palatability as ice cream dessert, to the acceptability of vertebrata as

chorizo, each presentation serves as a cornerstone of academic inquiry, driving knowledge

creation, innovation and problem – solving across a wide range of disciplines.

The speaker, Mr. Tandug, delivered a thought-provoking talk on the importance of

interdisciplinary research. His insights into the merging of different fields to create innovative

solutions were eye-opening. It made me realize that the future of research lies in the ability to

transcend the boundaries of traditional disciplines.

The presenter's thorough research and clear articulation of the problem and potential solutions

were both impressive and inspiring. It emphasized the critical role of research. Despite these

minor setbacks, the colloquium was a valuable learning experience. It broadened my

understanding of various research fields and sparked my curiosity in exploring new areas. It also

reinforced the importance of effective communication in presenting research findings.

Moving forward, I am inspired to delve deeper into my research and explore interdisciplinary

approaches. I also aim to improve my presentation skills to effectively communicate my research

in future colloquia.

Overall, the research colloquium was more than just an academic event. It was a celebration of

knowledge, innovation, and the relentless pursuit of truth and solutions. It was a reminder of the

power of research in shaping our world and our future.
