ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA OF ARBITRATORS

1. A person with the following qualifications and experience shall be eligible to


be nominated in the panel of Arbitrators of Society for Affordable Redressal
Dispute (SAROD):

i. Has been an officer with law degree having 25 years of experience in


the legal matters in the Government, Autonomous Body, Public Sector
Undertaking or at a senior level managerial position in private sector;
Or
Has been an officer with engineering degree having 25 years of
experience as an engineer in the Government, Autonomous Body,
Public Sector Undertaking or at a senior level managerial position in
private sector having a Turnover exceeding Rs. 1000 Cr;
Or
Has been an officer having senior level experience of administration in
the Central Government or State Government or having experience of
senior level management of a Public Sector Undertaking or a
Government company or a private company of repute with a Turnover
exceeding Rs. 1000 Cr.;

ii. Has held a post of the level of Joint Secretary to the Government of
India or its equivalent in the Central/ State Government/Autonomous
Body/Public Sector undertaking or in private sector company having
annual turnover of more than INR 1000 crores at Board Level;
Or
Judge of any High Court of India or Judge of the Supreme Court of India

2. A person shall not be eligible

i. If he is more than 75 years of age on the day of consideration for


empanelment of Arbitrators by SAROD.

ii. If he has been removed/ dismissed from the service of Govt. of India,
State Govt. / an undertaking of Govt. of India / State Govt. / Body
Corporate or any Public Limited Company as a result of disciplinary
proceedings and convicted for offences involving moral turpitude.
