Dear Mr. Pahud, my name is Ruslan Borisov. I am a student of the Petrozavodsk
Glazunov State Conservatory and a flutist in the Onego Orchestra. Recently I
watched your video on YouTube, in which you performed a flute concerto with the
orchestra of the contemporary composer Marc-Andre Dalbavie. I really liked it,
and I would like to learn how to use it in my future performances.
After visiting music websites, I did not find a "buy" button and did not find any
information about the possibility of buying sheet music. Could you tell me how to
purchase the sheet music of this piece? And are there printed versions of them? I
would be very grateful if you would send all the information to my email address
ruslanbirisovruslanborisov@gmail.com
Yours sincerely, Ruslan Borisov.

About the "Matthew Passion" by Johann Sebastian Bach. It was a big event at the
D. Shostakovich St. Petersburg Philharmonic. An orchestra from Lithuania came
to visit with such a wonderful program. The entire orchestra played authentic
instruments of the 18th century. The "Matthew Passion" lasted about 4 hours. The
audience was greatly impressed by the performance, that 4 hours of music flew by
unnoticed. After the concert, I managed to talk to the concertmasters of the bands
and express my opinion about the performance to them. As a result, I gained
experience not only from listening to a great composition, but also learned the
subtleties from musicians of the highest skill. Most of all, I was surprised by the
skill of the conductor, who simultaneously conducted the orchestra, choir and at
the same time played the harpsichord. I am sure that this concert will remain in my
memory forever.

One of the best operas I was able to visit was the opera "The Nightingale" by Igor
Stravinsky. The opera was staged in the historic hall of the Mariinsky Theatre in
St. Petersburg.
The opera "The Nightingale" consists of 3 acts based on the libretto by composer
Stepan Mitusov on the plot of Andersen's fairy tale of the same name. The plot of
the opera tells us about a nightingale who performs incredible songs that drive
away even Death. The opera is influenced by Rimsky-Korsakov and Debussy.
For me, this opera opened Stravinsky as an innovative composer. I experienced
unforgettable emotions from listening.

a) Alexander Yakovlev is one of the brightest representatives of the modern
Russian piano school. He graduated from the Rostov Conservatory and post-
graduate studies in piano with Professor Sergei Osipenko. This pianist has received
55 first prizes at prestigious international and all-Russian competitions. The pianist
collaborates with first-class musical groups under the direction of wonderful
conductors - C. Kogan,
R. Martynova, O. Balana, N. Samale and many others. This brilliant performer
often performs in the most famous concert halls of the world. Many prominent
artists paid Alexander Yakovlev the most flattering compliments.
b) To become a skilled performer, you should practice 24 hours a day. You need
not only to have a musical ear, but also to feel the instrument you are playing.
Every performer can become a virtuoso, and any virtuoso is a specialist in his field,
a musical genius. In the performance of a musical work, the most important thing
for a virtuoso is to be attentive to the composer's intention and not allow their
personal qualities to overshadow the musical character of the work.
