Family Drama filled with Vengeance: A Western Story

I wrote this story outline based on the given guideline:

Hook (Opening Scene):

A single figure on a horse rode into a dusty town, their face marked with determination.
We are not informed of them or what motivates them but it is palpable that there is
tension in the air.

(Optional) Flashback: This could be a brief scene from the past that shows injustice to
the protagonist.

Introduction

The first person should introduce the protagonist. This may be someone like a cowboy,
wanderer, or an ex-gunslinger; anyone who has had a past.

Explain briefly about their association with the town and their source of sorrow such as
being betrayed by family members, grabbing of land, or unpunished murder cases.

Describe the antagonist – the person who wronged the protagonist. Highlight their
power and influence in the town, creating a sense of David vs. Goliath.

Story (Rising Action):

The protagonist starts planning to get even. The plot may involve gathering allies like
reluctant partners or unexpected ones which adds mystery; acquiring skills and
revealing secrets.

There come hurdles over which we must jump. The villain might be expecting this
revenge seeking character or maybe he is well prepared for it all along.

Conflict within oneself rises among protagonists whether they will turn violent or another
way can serve justice instead?

Climax

There is a showdown between the main character and the bad guy. This can be either a
tense standoff, an open accusation, or a clever maneuver.
The protagonist’s strategy meets its toughest challenge. A betrayal, change of heart or
last-minute twist throws everything into doubt.

Falling Action

The conflict resolution takes place. The protagonist may have revenge but at what cost?

The consequences of his actions catch up with the protagonist.

Satisfying End

There is closure. This could be the antagonist facing justice, or the hero finding peace in
another way.

In conclusion, the main character recollects their journey through life. Did they truly
become brand new people? Was there forgiveness? It is an ending that will leave one
feeling both sad and happy.

(Optional) Show how the town was affected by what happened to it in the long run due
to his actions

Tips:

Use vivid details to paint a picture of the Wild West setting.

Explore more on how revenge turns him/her inside out as he/she embarks on this
mission for retribution

Think about justice as something beyond just getting even. Can there be forgiveness?
Can a community heal?
