Which channel strategy is suitable for the company that your groupmates have chosen for
International Marketing Plan? Discuss briefly.
We chose direct and indirect selling as the channel strategy in our International
Marketing Plan. Direct selling can be called as person-to-person retail, an efficient method to
establish long-term customer relationships and expand a flexible, low-cost business, send
targeted messages to specific groups of prospective customers based on demographics and
buying patterns. On the other hand, indirect selling is the selling of a product or service by a
third party, such as a partner or affiliate, rather than by a
company's employees. There is no personal contact between the seller and the buyer.
Indirect sales allow a business to easily boost sales without having to employ more salespeople.
Direct selling reduces advertising cost because the customers itself can advertise or share their
experience about the product, while in indirect selling, it creates campaigns to market the
products through affiliates because affiliates or third-party intermediary are only paid when a
sale is made, this method is effective.
