IBM Santa Teresa Campus, Baily Road, San Jose, CA architect: MBT Architecure year: 1975 size: 600,000 sf brief: IBM`s campus was conceived through two central themes, demonstrate IBM`s logical systems through a hyper-rational form and enhance employee comfort by maximizing outside views and providing ample open space. Oracle, seeking to consolidate its employees and brand a cohesive identity, adapted its parameters to fit within the existing framework of the project. The "commons" building houses a conference facility, auditorium, library, cafe, kitchen, and indoor- outdoor dining.
